The first one is a typical nasty, Romney dirty trick.

Now why would YOU believe it? For your Mitt?

In the dark days of 2008, even I thought Romney looked good.

Welcome to the sausage factory that is American politics. We have to choose the best given our choices. In American politics nobody gets everything they want.

The game has changed.

Nope, the game's the same as it always was. We choose between two flawed candidates because human beings are flawed and a politicians entire job is to bridge that gap. That's a good thing, not a bad one.

But we don't here that kind of history revisionism from the other camps, do we? It's the Perry people who like engaging in tall tales.

Well put.

It’s a real stretch, though, to mention that Perry (in the TX state legislature and a Dem at the time), said he was supporting Gore ...in 1988!

I didn't say that... /:-\

I didn't like Mitt Romney in '08 (even when he was considered 'the best of the worst' to some around here) and I don't like him now.<>I've been constant on this for years.

I was saying that this is a different election than ‘08. Sorry if I wasn’t clear.

No problem, this is a great thread; thoughtful and needed. We should fight hard for our candidates, but recognize that they’re all politicians. We get the best we can and keep their feet to the fire.

Better to grab Congress for 2 generations instead. That’s where the real difference comes from. If we hold the Senate and House we get what we want - better and faster. Although the next 2-3 SCOTUS nominees are critical to our future. We need to return to the Lochner Era.

Perry is the strong 2nd amemdment candidate.

Then explain why he would endorse Giuliani in 2008.

On gun control, Giuliani is perhaps best known for suing two dozen major gun manufacturers and distributors in 2000. Three years earlier, Giuliani advocated for a federal law that bans all assault-style weapons and said: “If, in fact, you do need a handgun, you should be subjected to at least the same restrictions — and really stronger ones — that exist for driving an automobile.”
“The United States Congress needs to pass uniform licensing for everyone carrying a gun,” he said then.

Today, Giuliani tells voters that he used gun-control measures to reduce crime in New York City, but that states should have the right to decide what works best for them. He says “people have the right to bear arms,” but he calls for “reasonable and sensible” restrictions.

Palin endorsed and ran with McCain and endorsed Perry (Perry needs to study up on future debates) Palin also said, you betcha to being Romney’s VP.I don’t think Romney was known to be the RINO he is back then.Just like McCain McDemocrat. So they all screwed up.

Who would Cain pick as VP?

Also a quick replay of many past elections will show no one is going to fix Immigration.I suggest watching a movie,The Big Uneasy on PPV.It is a real eye opener showing that none of the crony things will change in DC.

Every political season every politician harps about immigration reform. No one ever does anything about it because it would take some votes away from them.As Latino’s would vote for Bush or Perry and illegals voting illegally for democrats. Both political parties lie.It is the same crap every cycle.

So the issue will never REALLY get cleaned up.Just like campaign finance reform, term limits, lobbiests, big gov,the senate and house getting COLA payraises while the country suffers, and so on and so on.

I am so sick of the talking point they all use...

REIN in government spending,Rein in the EPA...

REIN IN? How about DISMANTLE?Sorry but I am old enough to have seen too many elections of IMMIGRATION REFORM BS talking POINTS and then everybody forgets about it after they are on the POTUS throne.
