As I see it, we have a few options here.
- both camps can agree that our candidates both screwed up and aren’t perfect
- we can start arguing about who’s endorsement was worse
- we can start digging up all of their other endorsements and start figuring out who’s got the most consistent record of poor judgement
I’m sure that my fellow FReepers will figure it out.
Let’s at least keep it orderly.
Perry endorsed Gore .
Option three it is!
:)
Everybody has some skeleton(s) to some extent.
The larger point being?
We could add quite a number of such instances to this thread. Duncan Hunter endorsed Huckabee. Tom Tancredo endorsed Romney. We could go on and on and on and on....
that was then this is now.
And Bachman endorsed Carter
And Palin endorsed McCain...and Hatch
Perry supported Al Gore!
If it was between McCain, Perry or Romney I’d go for Romney and in 2008 I believe Rush would have gone for Romney too/
JMHO
And Santorum endorsed Specter
Perry endorsed the children of illegals.
I agree with you completely. But, on another thread, the Perrybots are making a very big deal out of Cain’s endorsement of Romney.
Without realizing that Perry endorsed McCain.
It seems to me that endorsements aren’t worth the paper that they’re printed on.
You can post and link to but one source per thread.
You’re supposed to use the actual title of the one source.
Holy crap! FReepers are making sense!!!
Endorsements mean very little in the scheme of things.
Perry endorsed right to carry.
Reagan was a democrat.
It’s great that we are all supposed to read the future and get it right throughout our lives. People evolve. Do you have any idea how many former democrats or even liberals post on this board? Plenty. I welcome them with open arms.
These arguments are circular and lead nowhere. The ideal Conservative is different for each of us and no man/woman is perfect.
Between Romney and Rudy, I’d probably lean towards Romney...but they’re both TERRIBLE for conservatives.
Well, I really couldn’t figure out how to make this fair.
I had to cite both sources. I put Cain’s ‘sin’ first in the title and Perry’s ‘sin’ first in the body.
There really didn’t seem another way to make my point.
If the mods or Jim don’t’ like it, they’re always free to make it go away. My feelings won’t be hurt.
I’m just trying to stop another family feud.
Your post made me nostalgic for the FreeRepublic poll function we used to have, and the archives. During the ‘08 primaries, FR ran a rather frequent poll asking which of the remaining candidates you would support. When all we had left to choose from was McCrazy, Huckster, or Mittens, FReepers chose Mittens by a very wide margin.
I VOTED for John McCain for President in 2008.:(
NEVER AGAIN!
