According to Wikipedia Steve Jobs biological father was a Syrian muslim and mother was a graduate student.
He did do majik with 6502s.

RIP, Mr. Jobs. I know you can’t hear all the moronic chatter that’s attempting to fill the void.

I am Pro Life; but to answer your question - I would say that that we would be about where we are today in the development and evolution of solid state electronics. I suppose one could ask that question about any number of people such as “where would we be if Jack Kilby or Robert Noyce had been aborted”? But, please don't misunderstand me, Jobs was a true genius for sure.
That's my point, where would we be if Roe v. Wade had been proclaimed in 1952.
wow, in all the years of engineering, i never heard that. two of my children are adopted. i thank God everyday.
God rest his soul.
The rest of the story is - his real mother and father got married after her father died, had a few kids that they raised to be successful people.
Interesting story.....
I would die if i did not have an ipod, ipad, iphone, idol yada yada.
Excellent question!!! The World was blessed with Steve Jobs and his genius! There is a big hole left where he once stood! Enjoy Heaven, Steve! Please pray for his family who will miss him so very much!
Wonder how many other geniuses have been aborted?
I recently read that his real father had tried to reconcile with him but other than a few emails, Steve would have no part of it. The way I remember it - the father wanted to marry the mother after getting her pregnant but her father would not allow it because he was Syrian. So - the mother travelled to California to give birth and then gave the baby up for adoption.

Why did you leave the rest of the story out?
The bio parents did marry had a girl, divorced later.
Steve refused to meet with his former political scientist father, who is a Casino bigwhig in Harry Reid’s state. Steve Claims only his adopted parents, (Father.)
His bio Muslim Father said, ‘even if either of them were dying, he wouldn’t pick up the phone and call him.’(meaning Steve).

Or did I miss that interesting part of the story you posted?
My wife and I had this very conversation tonight.
Makes you wonder what kind of greatness has been aborted.
I suspect that the mouse and graphical interface would still have been popularized, but perhaps a little later.
Apple was entrenched in schools for decades. And a large part of that was due to the influence of MECC. I’ve heard that Tandy was MECC’s second choice of computer, so perhaps Tandy would have been a long-term survivor.
Recently, Apple has popularized having extreme control over their products. (Little customization, must use app store, can’t run flash or emulators.) This approach is being copied by other companies. So perhaps computers are going to be much more limited in a few years thanks to Steve.
Rest in Peace, Steve.
Wasn’t Bloomberg the one who sold the schools on Apple?
Also Bloomberg got the stock mkt up on computers early.
Those two endeavors started him on the way to the 400.
One other aspect of Jobs’ career that people forget, was he was a crucial part of Pixar, which gave us “Toy Story”, “Finding Nemo”, “The Incredibles”, etc.
I never realized that Steve Jobs was a Muslim.
"But the machine met MECC's specs and price, and the market-dominating Radio Shack [Tandy] lost out over bungled paperwork. Soon 500 Apple IIs were heading for Minnesota. The deal was one of Apple's biggest early successes, and helped launch the longtime marriage between the Apple computer and the classroom." Source
Given that it's a local MN paper, it may well also have an inflated view of MECC (originally a MN organization).
MECC went on to make the Oregon Trail and a bunch of other school software for the Apple II. Presumably, some schools bought Apples so they could use the software.
Oh .... the irony?
ozero mucking up our beautiful and historic executive mansion and a man that actually DID something with his life that made the lives of millions ... perhaps billions ... of people easier, happier, funner and some et cetera's.
His biological father was a muslim, but he embraced Buddhism
Anyway this thread is about where we would be if Steve Jobs mother decided to abort Steve Jobs, rather than give him to live life through adoption.
