CNN's John King plays Holder's testimony to Congress on MAY 3, 2011, where he said he had only just recently heard about the Fast & Furious gunrunning program. "I'm not sure of the exact date, but I probably heard about Fast and Furious for the first time over the last few weeks," Attorney General Eric Holder said.
Then CNN compares Holder's testimony to what President Obama said in MARCH to CNN Espanol about the operation. "I heard on the news about this story that -- Fast and Furious, where allegedly guns were being run into Mexico, and ATF knew about it, but didn't apprehend those who had sent it." ...And I don't know why they aren't doing so, but it appears to have been from either a Univision interview or CNN Spanish interview from March 23rd, according to other sources I Googled.
So watch this: here's how Holder will defend himself. His Congressional testimony was that he only became aware of F&F "a few weeks ago". That was said on May 3rd. He will start arguing that "a few weeks ago" encompasses the middle of March... covering this statement by Obama.
Just wait. He'll do it.
I also wanna know what news organizations were actively reporting on the scandal, since we here at FR were complaining about the lack of coverage.

Sources say Mexico’s frustration with U.S. efforts to stop the flow of weapons has pushed them into this novel approach. The law firm is looking at charges that may include civil RICO. The contract was signed on November 2, 2010 by a representative of Mexico’s Attorney General, at their Washington embassy.
On November 5, 2010 President Felipe Calderon expressed his frustration to CBS News correspondent Peter Greenberg: “We seized more than 90,000 weapons...I am talking like 50,000 assault weapons, AR-15 machine guns, more than 8,000 grenades and almost 10 million bullets. Amazing figures and according to all those cases, the ones we are able to track, most of these are American weapons.”
According to sources, investigators will obtain makes and serial numbers of guns seized by Mexican authorities and trace them to their U.S. distributors and manufacturers.

It’s worse: the government has been actually shipping weapons to one of the two large cartels operating in Mexico, the one starting with an “S”. In an effort to cause one to take out the other, our justice scum have been allowing cocaine shipments by the favored cartel in order to reduce funds and thus power of the Zetas.
