Sorry, Romney won that “round” with Perry, IMHO. First, by putting his hand on Perry’s shoulder and Perry acceding to this, he sent a strong visual signal that he was the Alpha male in the exchange.

AHHHHHHHHHHH

Let me guess

youre a wee short fellow 140 pounds wet ???

No dates in high school, let the jocks push you around ???

you were their gopher ???

Yes I can see where you might “admire” the playground bully, Big Willie Mitty...

Romney is a putz, a coward..

hes no “alpha male”

The Alpha males were in Vietnam while Wimpy Willie Mitty was in Paris keeping his well manicured hands out of the mud and away from danger...

If Cain takes the South, Romney wins the Northeast, and Perry wins the West, we could possibly have a split convention. In which case our delegates could choose any candidate they wanted. Palin? Rubio? Christie?

“I personally thought this was pretty lame and made Perry look petty. Can Perry prove that he checks the immigration status of every worker of every company he has ever used? When he does that, he might have a leg to stand on. But I doubt anyone does that - who has the time?”

But if they are a FRIEND of yours’ from YOUR church, you might have a clue if they were at your house every week for more than a year?

You might want to google about Romney hiring illegals before you defend that lying POS on this.

It does seem that Romney is the best debater of all the candidates
______________________________________________

Welcome to FRee Republic, n00b...

No Romney was not even a poor debater last night...

He was in a shouting march with Perry...

and Romney initiated most of it...

a brawler is not a debater...

Would Romney have smacked Perry if they were alone ???

Perry showed great restraint and remenbered where he was..

But Perry is just a human...how much will a man take before he pushes back ???

Will Romney try that again another time ???

Was he trying to get a physical reation from Perry ???

What if Perry had (and rightly so) clocked Romney ???

How far will the Mormon Romney go for his victim label ???

Just how much does Romney think he can get away with because he is in “a special protected class” ???

also pointing out (correctly) that anyone who aspires to be president has to be able/ready to listen to the other side.

Which excludes Romney right there

He better head his own words and drop out...

Romney has a history of arguing with people and only validating what he himself has to say...

Hes always right...

others are always wrong...

You nailed it TN. The spectacle about needing Rick Perry to apologize for another person's opinion was nauseating - forced and pathetic. It's as if his religion must be carried on everyone's shoulders as good and grand. Why do we have to pander? Because that is what it has turned into.

I think you should listen to Romney being not so “presidential” in his inability to shut his trap in 2008:

I think most Americans understand that if you hire a lawn service, you’re not expected to know the immigration status of every employer they send out to cut your lawn.

Really ???

Someone is jabbering away in Spanish on your lawn and you think they were born in English speaking America ???

And you think nobody or few in America would dare ASK ???

Well I for one sure would...

Mind if I PING a few FRiends to this amazing revelation of yours ???

And you do realize thats ITS A CRIME to hire illegal aliens ???

Why wouldnt an American be very careful who they hired ???

I think Mitt looked bad last night — desperate and unnerved. He talks too fast, smiles too much, interrupts, bullies, lies and WANTS THIS SO MUCH that you know he will do anything to have it.

In NH we have a 0% orange tax. And they’ll hit us with a 9% apple tax.

No thanks.

The 9% apple tax also eliminates the 15% payroll tax, the 15% Capital Gains tax, the 45% Death Tax, reduces the 35% Corporate tax to 9%, and will promote so much financial activity that the unemployment rate will be reduced from 9% to 4%, so you will be able so spend an extra 9 cents for your apple.

Look at the whole picture, not just the tax on your apple {or buy a half eaten apple, there is no tax on used goods}.

Best joke I have seen posted about perry, man thinks it would take half as long to build a border fence, as it took the Chinese to build the 5500 mile great wall. LOL

That would be the Electoral College, with no popular vote. The way Washington became president. i don’t know when we started taking the popular vote into consideration.

No, the original poster was referring to the old days before primaries, when the party officials selected the candidates. The primary system shifted the selection process to the party rank-and-file.

i’ll vote for the Republican who the liberal media praises LEAST.

This week, anyway. Didn't the liberal media consider Cain the winner in the Florida debate?

First Romney said it wasn't true, then tried to shout Perry's comments down. He defended himself by saying he can't be responsible for the employees of a company he hired just because they don't speak English.

But, he knew it was the truth and was exposed. The Boston Globe went and told Romney he had illegals working at his house. It was in the newspaper. When they went back a year later, they were still working there.

It was not lame of Perry to point out Romney as being hypocritical. It was not a matter of Romney "checking employment status," it was the point that the newspaper did it, and Romney did nothing.

I disagree. I thought Perry had a bad point on the illegal grass cutters but he got his soundbite out of Mitt (I am running for President, I can't have illegals mowing my grass) and it seemed he made a pretty convincing point on Cain's plan that caused Romney to even agree.

i saw Cain and Romney back track on the border fence and instead took weaker and less well thought out versions of Perry's plan.

I also thought Perry won the energy debate with everyone having to agree with him.

Paul was awesome until he went senile at the end.

Romney actually lied twice about Perry and his Texas jobs numbers.

I think Perry needs to do better at rebutting but Perry did good.
