Newt Hits a Grand Slam at Iowa Faith & Freedom Coalition; Perry Surprises me

The Iowa Faith and Freedom Coalition Fall Banquet today:

Herman Cain, as usual, was inspiring. Michele Bachmann, did well; same stump speech talking points but she did o.k.; she seemed tired. Rick Perry did ten-times better than he did in the Debates; receiving tepid applause upon entry and rousing applause as he left the stage. But, per my observation, only one, got a "standing" ovation when he left the stage and that was Newt Gingrich.

I have always thought Newt was a political genius but felt like he just wasn't the guy to carry the banner for the GOP in 2012. But, every time I hear the guy, I agree with everything he says. And he says it with ease, conviction and passion. At the Banquet this evening, he knocked it out of the park. The crowd gave him numerous, rousing ovations; especially when he said: "I will challenge Presdient Obama to seven (7) Lincoln/Douglas-style Presidential Debates of three of (3) hours in length with a timekeeper but no moderator. And, I will allow the President to use his teleprompter." The crowd went wild.

I'm seriously giving Newt another look. I think he will make President Clueless look like the doofus brain he is and can win this thing in 2012.

It's shame that Newt and Herman can't be on the same ticket because they are both from Georgia.

Someone posted something here a day or two ago that said that was untrue. Newt and Cain can be on the ticket. At this point, I’m starting to think that is our best hope. Not to win but to get the country back on track if we do win. IMHO.

Newt was terrific and he’s made me re-think my choice for GOP nominee. He said two things that really stood out for me:

1. Obama’s troop withdrawl from Iraq will end up in America’s defeat. Iran will take Iraq over as soon as we leave. Note: Michael Savage predicted the same thing years ago.

2. On his first day in office, he will sign an executive order relocating the American embassy in Israel to Israel’s capital, Jerusalem.

Newt was, without question, the best speaker at this event. He also said that he would challenge Obama to a number of debates, no moderator and each debate lasting 3 hours. He added that Obama would be allowed to use his teleprompter because he would need it to defend Obamacare for 3 hours.

What’s great is..... you KNOW Newt will force Obama into these debates. What does Obama do? If he doesn’t accept, Newt can hammer him daily that he is unwilling to defend his policies. If he accepts, Newt will methodically dissect him for the entire country to see.

NO other candidate will have the balls to do this. By the time these debates are over, no one will care that Newt had “baggage”. I predict an election landslide.

I am supporting the only man running that has a proven track record in leading this nation to four consecutive balanced budgets. Newt is demonstrably the most intelligent and knowlegeable candidate.

Newt is now a resident of Virginia.

Obama would never accept the challange.

Newt is a great speaker but then he's a policy wonk and has a background as a history teacher and he knows how to relate his positions to the people. If the only thing we needed in a POTUS is a policy wonk I would agree that Newt would be that guy. Newt's problem has always been a lack of judgement.

I think Newt has a lot to offer to this country, but not as POTUS.

Newt will destroy Barry in the debates, and with Cain or Michelle on the ticket will send the Kenyan packing.

Our families are giving Newt some strong thought. I believe he is the best qualified. I like Herman but I don’t think that he’s ‘there’ yet. Would definitely ask him to head the Commerce Dept.

Newt Gingrich is a national treasure at this time in history. He is a take no prisoner type of guy and will inhilate Obama with his knowledge and statesmanship. I am praying that he starts to rise in the polls because if he gets on top there will be no stopping him. He is the real deal.

And the chance that Zero would actually agree to this format: Zero.

He needs the boys and girls of the MSM to provide a protective shield.

Newt is certainly carving up the pompous media moderators quite nicely.

I'd like to propose a “pinch-hitter” rule for the presidential debates. No matter who wins the nomination, we can designate Newt as the debater.

Newt's problem has always been a lack of judgement.

That about sums it up.

Newt's problem has always been a lack of judgement.

And I agree that has been his Achilles heel in the past, but I submit to you that he's too intelligent to make those mistakes again.

If Newt is so smart why did he make a commercial w/ Nancy Pelosi and Al Sharpton.

Nevermind Cancer and Tiffany’s.
