Raw milk supporters rally around 'criminal' moms
The Washington Times ^ | November 2, 2011 | Jessica Claire Haney

SILVER SPRING, Maryland, November 2, 2011 – They escaped arrest. The “raw milk freedom riders” who illegally transported raw milk from a farm in Pennsylvania to FDA headquarters in Silver Spring, Maryland and then drank it and distributed it to a crowd rallied in support of their efforts got away with their crime.

As reported yesterday in this column, this group of raw milk activists planned the ride and rally to protest government restrictions on the sale of raw milk and the spending of taxpayer money to raid and bankrupt small family farms.

The rally began at noon as the swelling crowd gathered to hear speakers and await the arrival of the caravan, which, after celebrating its arrest-free arrival, gave out milk and cookies for all to enjoy.

In the crowd of 150 were raw milk supporters from Massachusetts, Wisconsin, New Jersey, Minnesota, and Ohio and throughout the DC Metro area. Said Kimberly Hartke, publicist for the Weston A. Price Foundation:

“The rally was celebratory, as the moms, with joy, took back their power and acted out their food sovereignty as citizens of a free country.”

Organizer Karine Bouis-Towe of the Farm Food Freedom Coalition read a statement from the Obama administration that said:

“Barack Obama and Joe Biden recognize that local and regional food systems are better for our environment and will support family-scale producers. They will emphasize the need for Americans to buy fresh and local.”

Do not deceive yourself into thinking that the CDC does anything to protect your health. They are way too busy building a health club and spa in Atlanta.

“I got Yellow Jaundice a type of hepatitis”

I had an infant brother who died of complications of Yellow Jaundice around 1940, (Before I was born) easily treated with Bili light nowadays.

Thanks for the ping. I fully support those that choose raw milk. The real criminals are the thug officials that raid farms, confiscate possessions and traumatize families for doing nothing more than producing and/or drinking their choice of a natural product.

***Fresh whole milk! Yummy!***

Where did my picture go!

And yes, I also was raised on raw milk. Try it when a cow has grazed on green grass with wild onions growing in the field. the meat is even worse!

Funny, this was just debunked on “Stossel” last time.

All this Enviro-Mental and “natural” crap is just that - crap.

How dare you suggest that
granola head organic snake oil salesmen
should be honest about their product! /sarc

(what follows is not directed to you, exDemMom)

This is eco-green crapola no different than globaloney man-made warming. If its it a person’s hobby, then just say so, but it is always dishonestly couched as the healthy alternative to something evil. A crisis. The sky is falling. Something else to spend money on. I don’t have time or patience to assist and subsidize people who want to luxuriate in their hobbies.

Unless a person will be paying cash for all treatment in a fully private hospital (subsidized not at all by the government) when their family gets severely ill due to e-coli or listeria or jaundice from the raw milk, then damn right its my business to denounce this non-scientific feel-good back-to-nature ideology that is shared by the enviro-whackos.

Given the same cow, pasteurization alone has no effect on the nutrition, taste or texture of that cow’s milk. Its the homogenization of that same milk (pasteurized or not) that changes that same milk’s nutrition, taste and texture. It is dishonest to conflate the two processes (Past. & Homog.).

And if a person does like the taste and texture of non-homogenized milk, then they stir a little heavy cream into a glass of homogenized milk.

I really pity people who make such things a priority in their lives. It reminds me of Oprah.

We never added sugar, got a fancy pasteurizer and about never used it. I know there are agents in raw milk that really help with arthritis, but they neutralized with pasteurization. The active agent was discovered by a guy name Wultzan or W something. It has been nicknamed vitamin W.

Fascism has taken over America, so that the big corporations are destroying the small producers to squeeze a bit more out of the markets. A little bribe to our Politicians and they have a monopoly.

Sad thing, the more corporations control health, the worse our health is. Most things I believe can be cured with nutrition, something sorely lacking in the industrialized food system.

This. Exactly.

They act as if all these EEEEVVILLL “chemicals” (hint: that’s what the world is MADE OF, genius) are killing everyone.

Well, excuse me for being in highly populated areas all my life with low access to “natural” products, but I’m not seeing or even hearing about people dying at young ages all the time due to XXXX or YYYY “chemical poisoning”.

It’s ludicrous.

Vaccines are far far far far far far less dangerous than the diseases they prevent.

Families that don’t vaccinate are freeloading. Such families enjoy the huge advantage of living in a society that has nearly eradicated the danger of these diseases through mass vaccination, yet these families have no skin in the game because they won’t accept the minute risk a vaccine poses. Vaccination programs eradicate disease only if the vaccinations are virtually universal; these families set themselves up as primadonna exceptions to the rules that little people have to follow. Families who don’t vaccinate are selfish to the nth degree.

There is a huge problem with some vaccines, but it is that some are derived from human embryos. I can understand refusing such vaccines as immoral. But most vaccines we were asked to give to our children were not derived that way.

Yes, longevity isn't the only way to measure health.

Just look at all the decrepit 70, 80, 90, and 100 year old people.

Suffering from sly poisoning, every one of them.

Pasteurization is based on a false theory, that Pasteur himself renounced himself as he lay dying.

The question of what constitutes a pathogen is dependent on the condition of the immune system of the infected person.

There is absolutely no disease problem with raw milk; the problem lays with the already poor health of the individual.

Get real:

http://thehealthadvantage.com/index.html

Pasteurized anything is unfit for consumption, a waste of money, and a serious threat to health.

You are certainly an ardent liar, and propagandist for death!

You drag up every false assertion that has ever been put to print in an attempt to reduce our population through erosion of the quality of our food.

A walking bible of iniquity.

I chose not to remain ignorant; that is how I found out the truth about pasteuration.

You should make the same choice; you’ll be glad you did.
