Influential congressman Steve King (R-Iowa) said Wednesday that presidential candidate Newt Gingrich's immigration plan was a "form of amnesty" and that he disagreed with it, adding to the chorus of critics from the right.
In Tuesday's GOP foreign policy debate, Gingrich said he would support an immigration policy that would allow illegal immigrants who had lived in the United States for a long time, obeyed the law, and paid their taxes to become permanent residents.
I do not believe that the people of the United States are going to take people whove been here for a quarter of a century [and] separate them from their families and expel them, Gingrich said. I do believe we should control the border. I do believe we should have very severe penalties.
He went on to say that he believed his policy to be the "humane" one.

Remeber...one ACLU lawsuit will have them voting in no time flat. NEWT the DECEIVER.
Go back and read the plan, as he addresses those questions.
Roger that. No question the law is showing results in both AZ and AL.
You'd think that conservatives, of all people, would do that automatically. Sadly, it's apparent that even many in our camp are not immune to a well delivered campaign spiel, and are willing to close their eyes to our candidates' records.
You read # six and keep dreaming that it’s not amnesty. Oh and I have found that Newt voted for the first amnesty, sabotaged and tried to outright kill e-verify. This is just a continuation policy for him. Anyone who imagines that Newt has anything other than open borders in store for this country is delusional. Newt will go all the way for his open borders CFR/Soros one world! And you Newt lovers will be skip and laugh to the piper’s tune all the way there with him.
As a freshman, he joined GA Jimmy to support the creation of the popular U.S. Department of Education. At the time, he was the only or maybe one of two Republicans in the GA delegation.
Cain retakes lead
Actually what Gingrich proposed is much worse than Amnesty. Amnesty simply forgets the crime without any punishment. An amnesty would be something like if the US government said leave and we won't prosecute you. This is not what Newt seems to be suggesting.
What Newt is actually proposing is that illegal aliens be rewarded for breaking the law. Illegal Aliens actually come out with a benefit that they wouldn't have had if they had obeyed the law.
“...open borders CFR/Soros one world...”
If you hurry you may be able to catch some Black Friday sales on tin foil!
Maybe you can explain to everyone why it is that people like you come to a conservative site to extol a liberal idea.
Are you being paid? Are you having a mental breakdown? Are you CFR or have you always been a liberal and have just decided to show yourself now? Because there is no sign of conservatism in this illegal pandering.
Maybe you and Newty will be able say hello to Georgie at the next CFR meeting.

If you’d ever been part of a large organization, you’d understand the notion of any group like CFR reaching a consensus on how to manage lunch, is a bridge too far.
What’s your “workable solution” to the illegal immigrant problem?
As soon as I read the lies about Beck, I thought they must have come straight from the SPLC America-hating infiltrators. Just the very way it was worded. Glad you called it out.
I asked you a question. How does someone who says they are conservative fall for such liberal anti-sovereignty, anti-taxpayer, open borders proposals?
My workable solution:
1. elect a president who believes in the sovereignty of the US and will defend its borders with fences, troops, and whatever else it takes against invasion.
2. defend our borders
3. enforce the laws currently on the books. No catch and release. Incarcerate and deport as you find illegals in our country.
4. Make e verify mandatory with with fines and whistleblower rewards.
5. Allow the states to assist enforcement of the laws currently on the books.
6. No more sanctuary cities.
7. The Eisenhower plan.
It really is no where near as complicated as the elites want to make it seem. It only becomes complicated when you are trying to put something over on the voters that is not supported by the voting public. Trying to hide and trick them into something they don’t want is very complicated. The same cheap worker loving corporate opposition and open borders political opposition that existed in Eisenhower’s time exists today. It will take very determined people to dig those entrenched groups out. They were neutralized before, and they can be neutralized again. But coddling won’t do it and neither will reaching across the aisle.
I didn’t notice any of them complaining about the dozens of articles about PHONY charges against Cain.
What about their families? This isn't about one single Illegal Newt,
and you refuse to explain the whole agenda. This is political BS for
a Race of people. If I were Mexican I would be embarrassed that there
would be a special privilege set asside for just my race illegal or not.!
Another thing about this Agenda is that politicians always say it would take
a mythical Ten years to get the illegal problem under control, well.
Whether it's oil or this matter that number has been used
for 50-years, every year by our arrogant leaders and I'm
sick of hearing excuses for their shortcomings.
They always start with a principal of movement to get the public on board
over any ideal they may have. Then once the public is hornswoggled into
backing "whatever" it gets blown into a giant monster of Governmental control
EPA anyone?
Newt should just lie but It's to late, he's just the flavor of the week.
