Portland homes with anarchists raided (OWS: Body armor, weapons and drugs)

PORTLAND -- Police have raided three vacant Northeast Portland homes taken over by anarchists who claimed they were part of the Occupy Wall Street movement.

Police were tipped off about the situation Sunday. Responding officers found that the squatters had changed the locks on the homes. Police said it looked like the squatters were ready for battle.

Inside the homes, police found anarchist literature, drugs and weapons, including machetes.

“There's the body armor in there, the bucket of projectiles: broken up concrete, rocks,” Portland Police Sgt. Jeff McDaniel told KGW. “There was some body-armor-type stuff for someone who might want to fight the police for one of the protests.”

But he explained that most of the protesters were non-violent.

“The sad thing is they’re trying to associate themselves with the Occupy movement, which has basically been peaceful,” he said. “But this clearly shows that [the anarchists] truly want to come down there and cause problems.”

The owners of the homes asked that the addresses not be released.

Police detained one man found inside a home. He said he had lived there for a week. He was given a warning for trespassing.

Neighbors said the homes had been vacant for about three years and squatters had been removed at least one time before. Police are working with the homeowners to avoid any additional problems in the future.

So in Oregon even the police side with the "Occupy Wall Street" hippies who stockpile weapons against them and break-in to homes? Remind me not to move there.

If I recall correctly, it was an ex Portland Oregon Police Chief who had everyone looking for the wrong vehicle when the beltway shooters Mohammed and Malvo were killing people in the washington Dc area a few years back.

Ole Moose! And the "white van." Which is something the snipers wouldn't even have been able to plan -- they were too far in their tricked out car from the scene of the murder and mayhem. Moose tripped over his own feet. If the perps hadn't bored of the chase to the point of getting obvious about who they were, enabling a conscientious trucker to finally catch them, they might still be out there doing heaven knows what.

Sure reads like a lukewarm response, but again maybe it beats SWAT burning the places down with flashbangs.

Portland’s Mayor Vera Katz was, about that time, not a fan of the chief but was quite a fan of a lib-nut protester/community organizer named Daniel Binn, whose mobs had surrounded the house of the police chief, shouted profanities, and terrorized the Chief’s ‘s wife. Eventually the Chief left town.

Such peaceful people...

Hooray for the Police! I sure wish they would do house-to-house searches for broken-up concrete, rocks, and dangerous literature in my neighborhood.

Just like the “peaceful demonstrators” at the 2008 RNC. This is the true face of what the Democratic Party has become. And the moonbats in Minneapolis continue to spew that the punks who broke windows, slashed tires, and dropped sacks of cement on buses were only exercising their right of political free expression and were victims of the Fascist Cheney Bushitler (I lived in Minnestoopid for ten years and got an earful of the moonbattery).

Whoa. Flashback to the 60/70’s. Not good. Sounds like the Weather Underground is resurfacing. I wonder if Ayres/Dohrn (Obama pals) are in charge again.

I still remember the “expert profiler” who assured us that these shootings were being done by a lone white male in his mid-twenties. I think the only thing she got right was the sex of the offenders. Of course that was a fifty-fifty chance at worst and considering how few female serial killers there have been who used guns it was a safe bet to say male.

No question, that OWS resembles a soft terrorism in action. Not to difficult to imagine the legalities that would be called into play, if these were Tea Party people.

OWS merits Liberal dispensations by way of Media sympathies and political correctness.

Altogether; pathetic.
