Gingrich on a First Lady Calista — Nancy Reagan + Laura Bush, with a Dash of Jackie Kennedy
ABC Political Punch ^ | 12-2-11 | Jake Tapper

WEST DES MOINES, IOWA — In our interview, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich discussed what kind of First Lady his wife Calista might be.

Gingrich is quoted in the new e-book “THE RIGHT FIGHTS BACK,” by Mike Allen and Evan Thomas, saying she would be in the Nancy Reagan mold. So that’s where we started.

What did he mean by that? I asked.

“First of all she is a very strong personality, which Nancy Reagan was,” Gingrich said. “She actually describes herself as being a cross between Nancy Reagan and Laura Bush with just a slight bit of Jackie Kennedy tossed in and I think there is, somewhere swirling in there, the model Calista would like to live up to.”

Not only is it a line of credit, it’s his own money. No taxpayer was affected in this instance. It’s hypocritical of the left to be ticked off about this, while at the same time brimming with glee when the Obama’s whisk off to some million dollar junket every other week, on the taxpayer’s dime.

Newt has almost zero chance of beating zer0.

Anyone in this race is viable.  Obama is beatable.  If people vote for four more years of Obama by staying home, they deserve to live in misery.

you opine: “but Gingrich is toxic to the Mushy Middle, so he has little chance of winning the requisite plurality of the “independent” vote.”

You know or you hope?

Of course you may have better inside information than this report?

http://www.newsmax.com/Headline/gingrich-romney-cain-obama/2011/11/29/id/419435

“polling is showing a “mass exodus of independents from Romney.” He said the independents are mostly tea party members of the GOP and they are moving very rapidly toward Gingrich.

Gingrich is also picking up the voters who are abandoning businessman Herman Cain

Per an ex-Gingrich aid which you chose not to post. Nothing in this article rings true!

Rasmussen did a poll the other day (reported on FNC and now behind a paywall) and they asked the question who respondents would support if Cain dropped out and the results showed that Newt moved up by the same percentage points that Cain now has in Rasmussen's polling with Cain in the race, which means that all of Cain's supporters who were surveyed would support Newt if Cain dropped out of the race.

you say, in response to MHGinTN's post: "You gave a filthy mouth. But then so have several I thought were conservatives at FR." ...Stop your drinking. You make zero sense. Please either rephrase or something. I can’t stand people who have problems with writing skills. Try again and try this time.

It does appear someone may be on SOMEthing, but I don't think it's MHGinTN

BYW "Try again and try this time."

Talk about 'zero sense'.

you ‘snark’ “Hilariously, some people here on FR made fun of Michelle Obama when she wore a pair of $200 sandals.”

(her sneaker cost over 3 x’s that) - but she does like the diamonds too

This is flat wrong. Where did you find such a fact?

I can’t because it’s behind a login paywall. I just googled a half hour ago, hoping I could link to it, but I didn’t bother.

The “independents” I’m talking about are the ones that voted for 0bamarx in 2008. I believe that few of them would see Gingrich as a better alternative. Gingrich has been thoroughly demonized by the press.

Besides, Gingrich has stabbed conservatives in the back before. He will do it again.

That talking point you and others keep spittling needs to be substantiated instead of swallowed like strychnine kool-aid. If you can show where Gingrich supporters are trashing Herman Cain for alleged affairs, post it or be exposed as merely a tool. I'm a Gingrich supporter and I've been trying to get freepers to think about the bearing false witness their spittling these allegations entails. There is no proof for the garbage being poured out on Freerepublic. If any proof comes out, well, that is another matter, but will also show that these spittlists are now bearing false witness since they had no such proof when they carried the lies forward just to assassinate Herman's name. So, why don't you provide proof of this insipid deceit you and others are spewing?
