He's no scaredy-cat! Angry feline who took on an alligator
DailyMail ^ | January 24, 2012 | Mike O'brien

It looks like a good way for this cat to become a tasty snack.

But when the bold feline decided to take on an alligator in New Orleans, he came out remarkably intact.

He chose to take on the reptile at an wildlife park just as it was trying to eat some chicken, and began raining blows on its snout. ...

The cat may be the bravest or most stupid you've ever seen and a cynic may argue that the gator has been trained not to attack.

But who's ever heard of a trained alligator?

I watched without the sound. Still, the event very well could have gone the other way. To me, it would be like someone watching a cat attempt to eat rat poison. What’s the thrill?

A spunky (to say the least) cat bluffs an alligator away from the food and back into the drink.

I love cats and got a kick out of this tough little stray.

Beyond that, ma’am, I have no idea what might thrill you, nor do I care in the least.

Have a nice day.

With all the notice this film clip has received, I suspect we will see the 2 players starring in a sequel. Dollars to donuts the next episode will have a different ending......

My two cats would have double teamed the alligator. One would distract it while the other grabbed the chicken.

They chase each other all day long, but when it comes to food they stand united.

They bamboozled me out of a can of tuna the other day.

I should have been more clear.

The thrill comment was meant for the people watching and encouraging the cat.

This is our spunky guy.

Bamboozled! ROFL

I have a friend who found a 5 lb female cat trying to haul away a 30 lb frozen turkey thawing in the kitchen.

The only thing my cats agree on is that my sleeping body is a great platform on which to have their squabbles.

Beautiful kitty. How did you ever get kitty to wear a Santa hat?

If an alligator gobbles up a cat does the alligator end up having to hack up a hair ball? Inquiring minds want to know.

Thank you.

My daughter did it. Trust me. She's spunkier than he is. She scares me sometimes. Ha! LOL

Thank you Lysie for the kind message and the great picture.

The darndest thing is that I have a spunky one myself who is the spit ‘n’ image of your little Santa’s helper, right up to and including the deep golden eyes.

Mine does have a small white spot on his chest, and a couple white hairs just between his eyes, but otherwise he’s a ringer for yours. Hop (his name) started out as a feral kitty whose momma abandoned him out here by the house...I eventually live-trapped both of them, separately of course, and had them spayed/neutered. While Momma took off to continue the wild life little Hop took his taste of civilization and decided it was for him.

He has lived inside ever since (though he gets out to play for long periods most days), the only one of our several feral cats to make such an adjustment. They tell me it’s rare for a wild one to become so domesticated, and it makes the bond all the stronger, going both ways.

Again, I so appreciate the word from you and the photo. Thanks for reaching out.

Bears and alligators, faced down by a little pussy cat. Amazing! I saw the bear photos before, but not the alligator video. Whew!

You just know that the alligator’s buddies are giving him [CENSORED] about this.

He’ll never live it down. How long do they live? Forty or more years. That poor guy. Razzed forever.
