Sarah Palin is urging Florida voters to vote for Newt Gingrich on Tuesday in their state's Republican primary.
"Vote for Newt," Palin told Jeanine Pirro, host of the Fox News weekend program "Justice with Jeanine."
Palin made a passionate plea for Republican voters to reject Mitt Romney in Florida to keep the primary process going forward.
The former Alaska governor made it crystal clear that she favors former House Speaker Gingrich, suggesting that the Republican establishment in New York and Washington is trying to anoint former Massachusetts Gov. Romney the GOP nominee.
"And I say, you know, youve got to rage against the machine at this point in order to defend our republic and save what is good and secure and prosperous about our nation, Palin said. We need somebody who is engaged in sudden and relentless reform and is not afraid to shake up the establishment. So, if for no other reason, rage against the machine, vote for Newt, annoy a liberal, vote Newt, keep this vetting process going, keep the debate going.
Here are key points Palin made on Fox:
"Ronald Reagan wasn't afraid to take on sitting members of his own party who were in office. He challenged a sitting Republican. He knew politics of personal destruction hurt the cause of conservatism. What we see today what happened there in Florida this past week it's gone beyond the pale, gone beyond aggressive and fair campaigning against an opponent."
Rick Santorum pointed out that Romney drew first blood, and at first, Newt Gingrich didn't respond he wanted to take the high road . . . [Newt] announced his intention to take the high road, but when you're continually hit and bombarded with negative rewritten history about yourself and your record, you have to hit back....

Her endorsement of McCain was TWO years ago!
Long before she was on contract with Fox.
This is going to be a long and hard fought primary, most likely being decided at the convention. The committed delegates usually are committed to the first vote and are free to do as they please thereafter so if no one has the magic 1170 number on the first vote it will be wide open. Then, anyone is eligible, even those who dropped out and those who never entered. It could be Perry, Cain, or even Palin. It could be anyone the delegates decide.
Palin is best to keep her powder dry for now. Besides, who are we to be second guessing her? She has outsmarted the media, the consultants and the Democrats so far so why doubt her?
Political consultants are a curse of the conservative movement and there are too many amateur advisors of FR.
She chose to run alongside McCain.
Your Sarah love is disturbing. Neither Sarah nor Fox have ever stated that she can’t endorse a candidate. Beyond that if Sarah is the courageous leader you sycophants dream her to be shouldn’t you demand she endorse a candidate? If Mitt wins Tuesday it’s over, Sarah’s sideline chirping won’t matter. McCain, (the candidate Sarah publicly endorsed) publicly endorsed Romney. Thanks Sarah.
LOL! Your PDS is disturbing. By the way, I don’t consider Sarah Palin to be my “leader”. She’s a great American with the ability to espouse good core conservative beliefs. That’s it. Nothing more.
As far as her endorsing McCain, it was done out of a sense of loyalty and/or payback for McCain running her as VP. Until then, how many of us had even heard of her?
McCain’s endorsement of Romney has nothing to do with Sarah Palin.
I would imagine it is anyone who is on payroll. Fox controls them with a contract. I would think she should quit, but maybe it keeps her relevant. Who knows!
It is what I have read on many other sites. Could just be speculation, but if you notice all of them that contribute or host do not endorse. They all dance around a candidate or lean a direction when speaking. Not saying its right mind you, just seems to be what is going on.
Wow, excuse me,but I never said I was making excuses for Palin! You didn’t ask me what I think about it all. I just made a statement. Listen we are all looking for something positive to happen here in Florida. I have made a decision to not let this thing make me totally nuts. Do I wish that she would say what she has danced around? Absolutely! Do I think it will make a difference? Not sure of anything anymore. Endorsements are flying all over the place here. The ads are ridiculous to the point of turning the TV off.
If you believe that then like Romney, she lacks core beliefs. As a conservative your first "loyalty" should be to your country, not to a Romney supporter. Your goddess needs to publicly pick a side and endorse a candidate. Again, if Romney wins Tuesday it's over and every conservative back-bencher who chose to sit on the side lines will forever be viewed as cowards.
Your repeating that doesn't necessarily make it true. There are 46 more states to go. Newt obviously doesn't buy into that. He's stated that he's in this thing all the way to the convention.
I agree with you, not sure if an endorsement will help, but I know it won't hurt. I'm just trying to make the point that it won't matter after Tuesday if Mitt wins. We gotta throw everything at this guy. The establishment pro Romney types aren't timid. They are coming out in full force while our side is making excuses as to why our so called leaders refuse to endorse Newt. McCain, Christy, Coulter, Rubio and Fox News proudly endorse their guy. Our side makes excuses.
“Palin is best to keep her powder dry for now. Besides, who are we to be second guessing her? She has outsmarted the media, the consultants and the Democrats so far so why doubt her?

Who’s trying to advise anyone? I’m stating the opinion that she should endorse Newt now, and I stand by that.
Why doubt her, you say? Because she’s a flawed human being; she’s not perfect.
Bump!
Jmy, that is such an inane response it has no relationship to reality. Do you know what year this is? Do you know the difference in the political situation today compared to 2007-08? There are a thousand differences in the normal situation and Palin's situation since then.
You don't consider that advice? Sure it is your opinion but isn't all advice simply opinion? What if she read that? Would she consider that advice from you even though it is your opinion?
McCain is, according to general posting consensus, the personification of Republican evil. She accepted the invitation to run with him, the biggest decision of her career. If you believe McCain was horrific, which I don’t, you have to conclude that Sarah “sold out” to become VP.
LOL, no, I don’t think she would read FR and say, well, Catherineof Aragon said I should make my endorsement now, so I need to take her seriously under advisement. On the other hand, I hope she might do so after seeing the same from many, many conservatives and supporters.
The point is, if she sees so many folks in agreement on this, it could sway her, or not. If it does, why does it bother you? It’s as though you consider her someone above the rest of the world who shouldn’t be taking advice from mere mortals.
Here in Florida, the number of Republican absentee ballots requested set some kind of a record....and those went out a long time ago. Also people have been pre-voting here for a while now in big numbers...before a lot of prominent GOP leaders finally endorsed Newt.
So....Newt's got to get even MORE of tomorrow's voters as opposed to what Romney has ALREADY and one can only hope the voters know that Sarah virtually endorsed him yesterday....which may be doubtful.
A comfort is that Mike Reagan is glued to Newt's side today as they make a whirlwind campaign sprint in towns throughout the state. Michael Reagan has put his money where his mouth is....a good Reagan trait shining through.
Another good thing is that this is a closed primary. The golden-oldies Dems can't cross over to vote for Romney. They will vote for anyone with a "Care" for a last name....ObamaCare, RomneyCare, CaponeCare, MansonCare.....makes no difference. They're the grasping CareBears. Too many GOP elderly voters who are retired in this state do the same.
I'm on pins and needles awaiting the results tomorrow, believe me.
Leni
Florida
Why would I conclude that? I don't assume everyone agrees with me. After all, you don't, so why would I assume that Sarah did at that time? I trust that if she felt that he was horrific she would not have run with him. Yet, I stand by my opinion of him.
Interesting. You say you are Catholic, yet your statement above brings scandal to the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Are you even familiar with the Act of Contrition?
