Anyone But Romney: The race by the Republican right to find an ‘ABR’ continues
National Post ^ | Jan 31, 2012

Updated Jan. 31, 2012: Support for former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney has remained one of the few constants during the Republican nomination race. But as contenders to Mr. Romney have emerged and then faded, the GOP still seems hesitant to embrace him.

The most recent candidate to play the Anyone But Romney role is former House speaker Newt Gingrich, who recently finished first in the party’s South Carolina primary.

The National Post’s graphics team takes a look at the ups and downs of the race so far.

First of all, can someone please get word out to Boortz and others, who seem smart sometimes, but so blind right now:
Romney is not the most electable, he is just higher in some meaningless polls at this instant in time.
That is because people only remember the smears about Newt, but that will change as the campaign goes on, because he is better able to get across to the American people just how bad Obama really is

Second, all my GOP correspondence will now be returned with the following written in large letters, in red, on the outside of the envelope:
ZERO DEFENSE OF HERMAN CAIN AGAINST FALSE ALLEGATIONS = ZERO DONATIONS TO YOUR PARTY
ANY DONATIONS FROM NOW ON WILL ONLY GO DIRECTLY TO TEA PARTY CANDIDATES.
IF ROMNEY IS THE NOMINEE, I WILL VOTE THIRD PARTY.

"I actually like Rick S but why he stayed in and hurt the conservative cause here in FL is beyond me"

manc - I've come to the conclusion that Santorum is getting some sort of back-door support from Romney - buried so deep it's impossible to find. Either that, or he hopes for a VP pick from Romney. He HAS TO KNOW that his staying in is hurting the conservative cause.

You are so right that the Truth is Romney’s enemy. Everyone needs to take the initiative and do what our media and the establishment Republicans will not do. Expose the Mormon Church’s goal since their founding, which is to make the USA a Mormon ruled Theocracy. As absurd as it sounds, this is real. Romney is their “White Horse”. Google Romey’s name and White Horse.

I cannot Ever vote for a man who’s life is ruled by such dangerous lunacy, and if you truly examine the Mormon religion, you wonder how anyone could ever ascribe to such utter ignorance and outright blasphemy!

Exposing Romney right down to his “Holy Underwear” is Newt’s Nuclear Option. Hope he has the courage to do it. In the meantime, I hope everyone of us who love the Truth and our country, will take the personal responsibility to tell everyone we know why Romney is unfit and Must Not be President!

Sadly, too many states have given up their quasi-soverienty by becoming entangled in the Federal government’s social programs and the huge dollars that flow from the Fed to the states as a result. If a state says “We aren’t doing that”, the Fed says “Ok, then we are going to withold these funds and that funds and this 4 billion dollar bridge project that you need here won’t go through” etc., etc. While I think secession is a step in the right direction, I feel most state legislatures have no balls to move forward with it and in the end we are all just facing an out of control government and the only way it stops is when it collapses on it’s own debt. SHTF/WROL is probably unavoidable at this point. Prepper City is where everyone should be piking too.

When the GOP gets Willard nominated... Where do we go then? We all immediately re-register as independents or members of another party. We must then resign ourselves to 4 more years of Obama, but we have to work like heck to make sure that he faces a conservative House and Senate to thwart all his evil socialist plans.

I remember a discussion or three after the last election in which many of us opined that Barack Obama was a judgment on the nation. The sense was "If we're no more Godly than to actually put that man in office, given what he represents, then God is teaching us a lesson."

Then we conservatives patted ourselves on our backs for having the good sense not to vote for Obama.

God works in mysterious ways.

Now CONSERVATIVES have this choice God presented last time served up to them as well. We know Romney is no less liberal. He funds the slaughter of innocents, he signs gay marriage legislation even when not necessary, he forbids personal self-defense, he practices cheating weights and measures, he considers himself a god, and he exalts the state over the individual.

How we ask, can anyone support such a thing?

But the self-congratulatory CINOs of the last election are now making the same choice.

We will be weighed in the balance and found wanting if we support this man.

The only faithful Christian choice is to support some third party or third candidate if Romney is the nominee.

Alamo-girl sincerely hoped for a man of God to be our candidate, and she saw that in Gov. Perry. I agreed with her on her evaluation of his religious faith. At this point, Santorum is the consistent Christian conservative, and Newt is the repentant and converted Christian conservative.

If Romney is the choice, then will we be next on the list of those who have the sentiments tried by fire with an ungodly choice to make. Let us pray not, and let us pray that we will have the courage and strength in His Spirit to resist the wiles of the devil and turn to a truly Christian leader in some other party or some other presidential campaign.

I’m wondering if the Democrats are funding Romneys campaign because Obummer can’t beat Newt in a debate. If Romney wins, he won’t get my vote.
Also Romneys Dad was born in another country like O”s was, so that makes it a level playing field on the natural born citizen lawsuits.

American Patriots of 2012 ... today in Florida, and across America .... from sea to shining sea .... we stand at the Crossroads of Destiny ...

We have ALEADY won today's "political battle" ... regardless of how the final Florida votes are tallied tonight ...

Why ?

Because as in "Lord of the Rings" ... the call to battle and Honor and Glory have (indeed) been answered ... from Patriots across this great land we call "America" ...

A gallant Call to Arms ... to Liberty, to preserve the Land that John Paul Jones defended as he cried-out "We Have Not Yet Begun to Fight" ...

Henry V ... in his St. Crispin's day Speech ... stood on the same kind of earth we see today ...

To the Ann Coulters, and her traitorous breed ... the Nikki Haleys, Mark Steyns, Bob Doles, Chris Christies ....

We "American Patriots" respond with:

"The (Traitor's) passport shall be made, and crowns for convoy put into their purse ...

"We would not die in their company whose fellowship they fear to die with us" ...

Let's us resolve ... this day ... to WIN the BATTLE for America's Renaissance of Liberty, Prosperity ... and Discovery to the Stars created by The Almighty ...

God Bless America !

Romney was a charter member of the Soros-funded Republican Main Street Partnership.

There should be ads about that.

I can't wait for the RNC to call me.

Be nice to the callers, for they are poorly paid for sure if the RNC is their employer. Most won't know what you are complaining about anyway.

The GOP-E wants the GOP to lose the House to get rid of the “Tea Party Disease” too. FUMR.

Alamo-girl sincerely hoped for a man of God to be our candidate, and she saw that in Gov. Perry.

I thought so too. For whatever reason he stumbled in his debates early on and the immigration purists buried him.

The only faithful Christian choice is to support some third party or third candidate if Romney is the nominee.

My wife and I discussed this at length and if Romney is the nominee we won't be voting. We will give money to Sen. Demint's "Senate Conservative Fund" and we will give money to Gov. Walker in WI.

I don't know how FL will go, but it's only 50 delegates. Super Tuesday is a bigger battlefield. The battle is not over!

This battle is nowhere near over.

Florida is not a southern state, it is a state in the south with A LOT of RINO retirees.

The unfortunate thing is that it's winner-take-all.

Newt can still win big on Super Tuesday, especially if Santorum drops out (which will probably happen this week).

“The GOP-E wants the GOP to lose the House to get rid of the “Tea Party Disease” too. FUMR.”

Worth repeating. There is no doubt the GOP-e wants the TEA Party members gone. Just like with Newt in 1994. He rose to power and they got jealous that after 40 years they were still making excuses as to why they couldn’t take the House and Newt did it right under their noses. They went after him with both barrels, just like now.
