The morale of federal managers and employees has been damaged significantly by the two-year pay freeze and perceived fed bashing by the public and members of Congress, according to the results of a Federal News Radio survey.

On a scale from 1-10, with one being extremely low and 10 being extremely high, only 12 percent of federal managers rated their morale at an 8 or higher, while 43 percent rated their morale at a 3 or lower. Federal employees felt much the same way. 11 percent rated their morale at an 8-10, while 44 percent indicated their morale at a 1-3.

Interestingly, those surveyed rated their personal level of morale higher than that of their colleagues. When asked to rate the overall morale of the federal workforce, only 2 percent of federal managers and 5 percent of federal employees said that their colleagues have a morale level between 8-10.

I used to be a government employee and worked my butt off. HOWEVER, that wasn't the usual work mode of my "colleagues." I also got out.

As a friend of mine, also then a government employee, these are "people who can do no other work."

I am fresh out of crying towels.

I’ll bet many of the ‘loads’ in those ranks can see the writing on the wall..they are toast after November. The gravy train iss about to be derailed.

“The morale of federal managers and employees has been damaged significantly by the two-year pay freeze and perceived fed bashing by the public and members of Congress,...”

Perhaps they need to resign and find work that pays better. LOL

Good, we need to dismantle about 90% of the Federal Government!

My business went from salary and bonus to commission. I’ve been living for 10 years never knowing what my next months income would be and if it would cover bills.
My pity meter failed to register for this story.

Welcome to the party!

It used to be that when people took government jobs, they expected to take it in the shorts on salary in exchange for dependable employment with excellent benefits and retirement. Not anymore, everyone wants to have their cake and eat it too.

What, you mean I can’t work for Satan himself and feel good about myself at the same time?

And doesn’t the “overrepresentation” of minorities working for the government constitute a “disparate impact” and isn’t it a sign of discriminatory hiring?

“Good, we need to dismantle about 90% of the Federal Government”!

...and most of the “cash” that sustains them. Let me be clear. I’m not against what is mandated by the Constitution for government duties.

If such was the case, we would have very few problems in this Republic.

“The People” trusting and honest as they are, have placed so much in the hands of government including too much money, that an army of watchdogs, could not properly audit their efforts.

What "freeze"?

As I understand it, they - like most devoted public servants - get step increases every year on top of any so called "raises".

Cry me a river, hacks.

Unaccountable positions of power attract leftist busybodies like moths to a porch light.

We can’t replace them with “our moths”,
we have to bust out the porch light.

Wah! That's a year shorter than my pay freeze, so I feel free to bash them.
