Don't Worry, Folks: Advertisers Who Don't Want Your Business Will Be Replaced
rushlimbaugh.com ^ | 03/05/2012 | Rush Limbaugh

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: The left, folks -- the media -- are giddy that some advertisers have said they're leaving the program. And I'm sorry to see 'em go. They have profited handsomely from you. These advertisers who have split the scene have done very well due to their access to you, my audience, from this program. To offer their products and services to you through this venue is the best opportunity that they have ever had to advertise their wares. Now they've chosen to deny themselves that access, and that's a business decision, and it's theirs alone to make.

They've decided they don't want you or your business anymore.

So be it.

For me, this program is always about you. You talk to anybody that knows me who asks me about this program, and I always say, "It's all for the audience," because if you're not there, all the rest of this is academic. This show is about you. It's not about the advertisers. I knew the political inclinations of these people. They didn't care when they were profiting -- and I didn't, either. Everybody's able to put these things aside for the sake of mutual beneficial business activity. No radio broadcast will succeed by putting business ahead of the needs of its loyal audience, and that audience is you. My success has come from you. My focus has always been, and always will be, on you.

And I'm still not through.

An NBA team? The way pro athletes treat women is better than how Rush TALKS about them? Kind of funny.

BTW — we got whoopie dropped as spokesperson for Slim Fast and got that hateful anti-Reagan hit piece starring mr. stresand moved to public cable so Conservative “boycotts” DO work.

Because we have money and all but a small number of power-crazed liberals (who wouldn’t have a DIME if not for capitalism) DON’T.

In fact, all this controversy has done is drive even MORE people to listen to Rush's radio show. Watch for a big spike up in Arbitron ratings for the show to as high as 18 million listeners per week because love him or hate him, everybody wants to know just what all the fuss is about.

If that is true, then all those advertisers who bailed on him are going to regret it.

Sluts are, by definition, the most desirable advertising demographic of all.

But there are occasions an advertiser profits from an informed, intelligent audience.

Well, that’s what a little birdy told me. Sent an email through their site on the contact link and got this response:

Thank you for contacting ProFlowers. We appreciate your email and thank you for openly expressing your opinions. Your feedback has been noted and will be shared with our team.

Good for Rush!!! Glad to hear it.

I may be critical of him at times; but, I also realize he does a whole lot of good and supports some very worthy causes. He deserves to do well.

Now that they dumped Rush, the long dark secret can finally be revealed:

ProFlowers seriously sucks.

I ordered a ridiculously overpriced box of roses for (last years) Valentines Day.

My beloved got wilted deal old weeds. I was completely outraged.

“The REAL reason some of these advertisers are pulling their ads is because they are probably TANKING ANYWAY BECAUSE OF THE 0BAMA ECONOMY and now was an opportune time to act.”

I don’t think so. I think they were mostly a bunch of cowards and they picked the wrong side; Rush did really good today, Monday. Rush will be fine and this problem will go away. The advertisers will have to decide how to reach those potential buyers now after they dissed Rush and his audience. Note that conservatives actually buy and contribute whereas liberals just lust and covet.

I am surprised that Autozone has joined the group to pull advertisements. Their clientele is largely male and conservative.

I sent an email informing them I will stop doing business with them, they responded that “AutoZone has recently received several inquiries regarding our advertising policy. It is AutoZone’s policy to not advertise with any politically focused personalities or shows.”

What BS, why did they advertise with Rush in the first place if they were concerned with politically focused personalities or shows? Any company that pulls advertisement in a situation like this either wants to send a message or is run by chicken-livered weasels.

"Oh yeah, ProFlowers is toast."

It would be fun to know how these companies fair after boycotting Rush's show and pulling their adverts.

Maybe some of the Stock Market Freepers can track this info, would be very interesting to see if they lose dollars and/or market share.

ProFlowers seriously sucks.

About three blocks from here is a florist in an industrial area. They sell a dozen fresh long stemmed roses for $19.99. So I'm going to order flowers from Proflowers why?
