ABC Poll: Romney Beats Obama as President's Ratings Plunge
Newsmax ^ | March 10, 2012 | Newsmax

Posted on 03/12/2012 1:48:09 PM PDT by RobinMasters

President Barack Obama's approval rating has plunged below 50 percent, and Republican front-runner Mitt Romney would beat him if the election took place today, a poll showed Monday.

The survey, by ABC News and The Washington Post, indicated that only 46 percent of Americans now approve of the way Obama is handling his job, and 50 percent disapprove as he took a hit from rising gas prices.

The situation was a reversal from early February, when 50 percent approved of the president's performance and 46 percent disapproved.

The survey was released as the battleground for the Republican presidential nomination moved to the deep South for primaries in Alabama and Mississippi on Tuesday.

If the presidential election took place today, the poll found that Romney would beat Obama 49 percent to 47 percent.

The president was barely ahead of former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, who is running second in the Republican pack — 49 percent to 46 percent.

Previously, Obama held significant advantages over both.

According to the survey, the drop was attributed to soaring gas prices threatening to crimp America's slow recovery from a recession.

It's probably more likely that a reporter asked for the results of the survey and was told 4 to 6%.............. so, the news copy reads forty six percent............and that, boys and girls is how news is made.

Bill Clinton was a big fat liar himself but Obama's lies and truths are hurting everyone in this nation and hopefully, there is a realization that with Obama, there is no turning back and I know I'm sick of "the government" telling me what to do every second of every day and excuse me, my Toyota is dependent on fossil fuel and my Toyota doesn't much care where it comes from.

Go away, Obama and take your fat police wifey with you.

the drop was attributed to soaring gas prices threatening to crimp America's slow recovery from a recession...

Even reporting "bad news" for their guy, they are always pimping for this jerk. Try the other way around, schmucks...

The poll drop IS CAUSED BY zer0, by doing NOTHING to drill or relieve oil/gas prices, and by doing EVERYTHING to raise oil/gas prices, CRIMPING the US economy, and forcing recession to linger. This could be mere media setup, for when the Strategic Oil Preserve floods the market... as early as late October.

This is supposed to be a poll of registered voters, not likely voters.

So given (1) the supposed "enthusiasm gap" working in favor of the Republicans and (2) the tendency of the MSM pollsters to oversample Democrats, it would appear that Obama's real performance would be a few points worse vs. either Romney or Santorum than the polling indicates.

So right ronnie raygun.

If Massachusett’s-Mandate-Mitt gets in, get ready for the greatest shakedown in American history, together with the propaganda that now “both” parties are for it.

When the resulting BIG TIME shut down of consumer spending occurs, from the Arbeitsziehungslager effects, get ready for VAT, which he’ll go right along with, smiles and all just like the pictured shake-hands signing of the Massachusetts Mandate.

They ARE using Arbeitsziehungslager, on the backs of everyone else, as treasury security. Gasoline prices will be meaningless, as ANYTHING they want can be leveraged under the definition of so called “health.”

Purchasers of U.S. treasurys, will have security based on Arbeitsziehungslager U.S. citizen labor,

Forced Labor Camp: U.S. Territory, age 26.

“He’s probably the only candidate the skinny kenyan communist muslim faggot usurper could actually beat.”

You’re right; the Dems will try to use his wealth against him to show an out-of-touch destroyer of jobs running against a champion of the masses. I just don’t know that many will buy Obama this time around; it has been a horrible 3 years, and he offers no hope anymore. If Romney attacks on some simple points (Obama’s war on employers, gasoline engines, etc. - using Obama’s own quotes against him) he should have no problem. There are simply not enough government workers (still working), homosexuals, and unassimilated minorities to put Obama over the top, and nobody else has any incentive to support The Sultan.

“slow recovery”? The unemployment rate’s still almost twice what it was under Bush. No matter how many jobs are created, the problem is the mass of people who were unemployed on Obama’s watch, the fear, doubt and uncertainty Obama himself inflicted on business with his messing around with health care - Obama may lose just on the magic shrinking health coverage Americans get now that he’s guaranteed health coverage will be more expensive for most of us - and the backfire of his lack of resolve with Iran - which predictably will lead us into yet another war under a weak Democrat (just like the escalation of the Vietnam conflict into something that cost 50,000 American lives).

I suspect the Rush thing backfired on Obama.

The country is sick of the double standard - sick about Sarah Palin and conservative women being called names and liberals laughing and whooping it up about it. Then, the same liberals turning around and act 'oh so horrified' when a liberal woman is called a similar names...

People are tired of the Democrat-Media Complex pretending they don't know conservative women have had to put up with being called c*unts and twats for years.
