Ed Rollins made a cryptic comment on Fox News w/Bill Hemmer this morning, alluding to the fact that Romney had best stop further negative comments about his opponents now - for not only is he smearing good men but also angering their loyal supporters.
Rollins said that not only will Romney need the support of Santorum and Gingerich (Paul will definitely be supportive) but he will also need those thousands of loyal donors and followers, whom he will very much need to go up against and win - the real enemy.....Barack Obama (for whom he's said little in the way of very negative, condescending comments)!
Romney drives down the vote in many states, wins with much less than half even in "friendly" states and it's hard to imagine that those who find him unappealing now and more so as this primary season runs on.

it will be exactly as it always is. a non-event.
except that it will be broadcast, and it will be for many, the GOP’s infomercial and beginning of the fall campaign. Romney’s numbers will go way up, followed by a drop, and then the coin toss as we enter October.
Same as always.

I think that if a miracle does not happen... it will look just like another 4 years for the satan’s candidate.

Are you old enough to remember the '76 convention? That was certainly not a non-event. 49% of the delegates with the '76 version of the vuvuzula made quite a fuss.

Prediction: dem trolls (who pretend to be conservatives) will flood conservatives sites and try to destroy our ability to communicate. They will do what they can to make our convention a bad experience - and they'll push for our weakest candidates. They'll lie. Because that's what they are...

I disagree... there is no one... not even Palin that could entice me to vote for mitt. He is a progressive baby killing dim.

If Mitt gets it and he looses, I am done with the republican party and will work for a new party.

They will, as in 2008, IMMEDIATELY send out MONITOR GOONS to take down ANY SIGNS that are anti-illegal alien in nature. They will approach any Young Republican group or otherwise Border Security group and demand that such signs be taken down as “racist” and “disinviting of Latinos”. They did it at the Juan McCain love fest four years ago, they damned will will try it again, with orders specifically sent down on high from the RNC. If anything needs to be cleaned out that is the RNC infrastructure, staff, toadies, operatives, the whole nine yards. Any of the token conservatives can stay.

Absolutely. But that primary season was entirely different. Reagan was never out of it...he trailed, but he was always a contender. And when he won Texas, it looked like he might actually win.
This year is different, especially after last night.
To: TSgt
Agreed. I am so disappointed...

I’m done with them after April 24th, hopefully, I can still vote for Newt. After that, I’m switching to independent. I’ve had more than enough. The party left me.

Like with McCain, the VP will make or break the ticket.
Yup.
I predict either Rubio or Rand Paul. Both would be great.

First Ballot: Romney gets close, but doesn't win it.
Second Ballot: Chaos.
After Second Ballot: Nominations reopened by vote of the convention. Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush's name placed in nomination.
Third Ballot: Bush leads, but doesn't win the nomination.
Fourth Ballot: Jeb Bush gains the nomination. Romney is chosen as his running mate.
