Skip to comments.Anyone here want to make ANY predictions on what the GOP-E "Convention" will look like...

Post 'em here.
A coronation of Romney. Nothing more.
And Mitt had better enjoy the “victory.” It’ll be the last of his political career.
Like with McCain, the VP will make or break the ticket.
A solemn occasion in the convention hall swathed in pink with an open benediction from a lesbian Unitarian minister.
Outside nude porn stars and their nude children hold protests.
The GOP leader dutifully calling for moderation and tolerance of other views while vilifying conservatives.
Oh wait a second... are conservatives not bolting??
“A coronation of Romney. Nothing more.
And Mitt had better enjoy the victory. Itll be the last of his political career.”
This. With a Party First crowd of credulous, statist Stepford drones applauding the Distinction Without a Difference candidate.
Yeh, down w/the one and only constitutional candidate, and Whoo-Ray for the pseude-cons!
aka: Dick Gaines
A Chinese Fire Drill.
Cluster and you knw the rest.
If it’s anything like the local conventions have been, expect the Paulites to be loud, rude, disruptive and have no respect for any kind of order. Their stealth mo seems to be to “outlast” and disgust other members into leaving just to get away from them.
Like McCain I wonder how long it’ll be before he starts saying Obama has been good President and a is a good man and we have nothing to fear from him?
Did wonders for McCain. /sarc
Nothing is going to save that ticket, it would still be a turd casserole, even with dumplings and whipped cream added.
A VP with non-citizen parents at the time of his birth will just cloud the Obama eligibility for all time.
We all lose.
Events outside the convention will take all the “media air”
from the event anyway
Romney receives the nomination in a Dallas hotel ballroom as rioting OWS protesters shut down the convention.
While Mormons make up about 2% of the US population, they will make up about 8% to 10% of the GOP convention attendees, and will be satirized and pilloried by the MSM for their over the top displays of religiosity during the entire week.
If Romney’s the nominee, it will be the first time since 1976 I won’t even bother to tune in to watch the GOP convention. It would be both as meaningless and as nauseating as watching the Dems and their convention.
Close, but maybe in TAMPA?
Rollins said that not only will Romney need the support of Santorum and Gingerich (Paul will definitely be supportive) but he will also need those thousands of loyal donors and followers, whom he will very much need to go up against and win - the real enemy.....Barack Obama (for whom he's said little in the way of very negative, condescending comments)!
Romney drives down the vote in many states, wins with much less than half even in "friendly" states and it's hard to imagine that those who find him unappealing now and more so as this primary season runs on.
The moron Rollins said that? Broken clock moment?
it will be exactly as it always is. a non-event.
except that it will be broadcast, and it will be for many, the GOP’s infomercial and beginning of the fall campaign. Romney’s numbers will go way up, followed by a drop, and then the coin toss as we enter October.
Same as always.
Perfect! I’m howlin!
A High School Pep Rally.
If Mitt gets it and he looses, I am done with the republican party and will work for a new party.
They will, as in 2008, IMMEDIATELY send out MONITOR GOONS to take down ANY SIGNS that are anti-illegal alien in nature. They will approach any Young Republican group or otherwise Border Security group and demand that such signs be taken down as “racist” and “disinviting of Latinos”. They did it at the Juan McCain love fest four years ago, they damned will will try it again, with orders specifically sent down on high from the RNC. If anything needs to be cleaned out that is the RNC infrastructure, staff, toadies, operatives, the whole nine yards. Any of the token conservatives can stay.
Absolutely. But that primary season was entirely different. Reagan was never out of it...he trailed, but he was always a contender. And when he won Texas, it looked like he might actually win.
This year is different, especially after last night.
Agreed. I am so disappointed...
I’m done with them after April 24th, hopefully, I can still vote for Newt. After that, I’m switching to independent. I’ve had more than enough. The party left me.
I predict either Rubio or Rand Paul. Both would be great.
Romney’s Secret Service protectors won’t want any of them within 100 miles of Tampa when this breaks loose
I’m waiting for that date when he says that ObamaCare need not be scrapped, just modified.
Second Ballot: Chaos.
After Second Ballot: Nominations reopened by vote of the convention. Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush's name placed in nomination.
Third Ballot: Bush leads, but doesn't win the nomination.
Fourth Ballot: Jeb Bush gains the nomination. Romney is chosen as his running mate.
The RINOs stamp their control over the GOP
RINOs fail to take Senate.
Romney loses to Obama.
All hands will join around a Romney/Rubio ticket, which will achieve victory in November.
My only hope is that the delegates to the conventions will leave their funny hats, ties, and costumes at home. We need to show on television that this is serious business. The future of our country is at stake. If the independents and Reagan Democrats see a serious convention they will be swayed in our direction.
That is actually a great point. I agree entirely.
I fear, however, that Romney is not going to be able to withstand the temptation to avoid the party-like atmosphere..this is his day in the sun, of course. Why shouldn’t he get to have some fun too? That said, while I like your plan better, I don’t think a business as usual convention will bring about obama’s re-election. The campaign which follows the convention will do that, or not......
A giant pack of moderate lemmings kissing Mitt’s RINO ass as the entire 2012 campaign leaps off of a cliff.
“All hands will join around a Romney/Rubio ticket, which will achieve victory in November.”
That’s hilarious. You have a future in stand-up comedy.
Pub, I agree on your first two instances. I think that’s exactly what’ll happen. I do NOT, however, see anyone nominating Jeb Bush. I think pretty much everyone agrees that we aren’t going to want ANOTHER Bush in the Oval Office.
What do I want to see? Something just as highly improbable...
Between 2nd and 3rd Ballot: A former Governor of Alaska gets up and makes a rousing, patriotic, and stirring speech to the Convention. Someone from “the great state of Alaska” nominates Sarah Louise Palin as the candidate.
3rd Ballot: Sarah Palin becomes the nominee. Selects Allen West as running mate.
Sit back and watch as heads explode, ER’s nationwide filled with coronary victims (mostly Dem), and the White House goes into ‘panic mode’ like you’ve never seen before.
If a thousand dignified delegates show up - and 3 look like fools, the MSM will focus on the fools. Or if the MSM thinks ‘dignified’ makes us look too uptight - they’ll focus on that... We can’t win with the MSM and should not try.
They hate us.
If you watch this - NYT’s guys talking when they think there’s no conservatives in the room - you’ll see - they laugh at us:
Whatever, dude. Get back to me in November.
rubio and mitt... both conservative myths.
