President Barack Obama offered a private request Monday to Russian President Dmitry Medvedev for some “space” on missile defense ahead of November’s elections.
“On all these issues, particularly on missile defense, this, this can be solved but it’s important for him to give me space,” Obama said, referring to incoming Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to a TV pool reporter who heard audio recorded by a Russian reporter who was in the room moments before the two leaders spoke to reporters after their 90-minute meeting.
“Yeah, I understand. I understand your message about space. Space for you,” Medvedev responded.
A U.S. pool video camera in the room caught part of the audio, but not the piece about missile defense.

I want the Romney haters to tell us now that it makes no difference if Romney or Obama is elected. Forget the SCOTUS justices Obama may nominate. Forget the attacks sure to come on the 2nd Amendment. Forget the increased deficits and debt. This man has been caught entreating the leader of a foreign adversary for allowing Obama to run for reelection uninhibited by decisions damaging to national security. He does this by promising flexibilities that Russia will find enticing. The GOP should now be able to run anyone, from Romney to Palin, and count on the votes of all patriots.
Which of course is a curse of the Chinese variety.

And not just by Putin, I'm thinking. Virtually any foreign government with a semi-decent intelligence service would have "the goods" on this dude. If Sheriff Joe Arpaio and his Cold Case Posse can get as far as they've gotten, do you really think professional spy agencies don't have him cold? Bet on it.

I totally agree and have thought that for a long time. This is exactly why congress should investigate and actually do something.
My father used to talk about the communists at the dinner table when I was growing up. He died in ‘93. I believe he turned in his grave yesterday and more than once. It’s strange. I haven’t heard the trumpet yet. I haven’t seen people leave in mass yet. I haven’t heard any reports of a lot of car accidents happening all at once ... yet. I’m still here.
