They are thinking “fat fascist pig ~ what does she know beyond the end of her snout”, or, alternatively, “Typical college administrator”.

Probably not much different from what Admiral Willard was thinking when Rep. Hank Johnson (D) asked him about the possibility of Guam capsizing.

“I’m pretty surprised to learn that the mandate might be unconstitutional”

I was surpised to see the sunrise this morning. I said, “Hey, what’s that monstrous fiery orb?!” Then I remembered it happened the day before, too. So it couldn’t be all that unexpected.

Liberals are idiots.

The Constitution is NOT hard to understand. Where does it give the government the power to force the citizens to do something like that??

> the moral here is:don’t criticize the supreme court on national television while giving a state of the union address. They will get even.

The Supremes, irrespective of their personal annoyance at Obummer, would do themselves and the country no favor by being vindictive in that way. It would only provide fodder for a future overturn.

Instead, they should go out of their way to make sure no one has even a hint of revenge in their eye, throughout the proceedings.

and THEN stick it to him! :)

I would wager that a poll of liberals would find that the vast majority would believe that a mandate to buy broccoli would be perfectly Constitutional. They seem to believe that when something is good for people, then it must be Constitutional and if something is bad for people, then it must be unConstitutional.

The actual words or thoughts of the Founders don't enter into the judgement. Liberals simply decide what they think is reasonable and then insist that our Founders would have also found the same thing reasonable.

Liberals believe that gun-control laws are reasonable. They believe that our Founders would have believed that gun-control laws are reasonable.

Liberals entirely overlook the history of colonists in occupied Boston being forcibly deprived of their arms by the army (the Redcoats) of their own government.

Hey, wet pants! Obama says you can only buy Hebrew National Hot Dogs. Would that be constitutional? The day is coming when crap like that could happen if the court doesn’t strike this down.

Chrissy and his pals were too busy giggling over their clever sexual slur “tea baggers” to actually listen to those Americans at the town hall meetings yelling about the constitution.

If the IM is ruled unconstitutional, the bill is gutted. There was no way the Dems were gonna pass it without the IM.

If we have "Must Cover" without the Individual Mandate, the insurance industry goes down in flames because of the number of people who would not buy insurance until they were actually sick.

You forget, though, that some people just want to watch the world burn. Striking down IM, and the destruction of private insurance, means that the Dems could argue that we had no choice but to extend Medicaid to everybody, and raise taxes accordingly.

You are correct. They are the exact kind of people that embrace tyrannies. Socialist would-be tyrants smile on them, until they come to power of course.

RE :”does Harriet Miers ring a bell?

The text “.. with some prodding..” was a reference to her being pushed on us at first.
