Zogby: Disillusioned young voters dropping out
Washington Examiner ^ | 6-11-12 | Paul Bedard

Nearly four years after enthusiastic younger voters poured into polling booths to help push Barack Obama over the finish line and into the Oval Office, their hope has turned to fear and pollster John Zogby says that they are ready to give up on politics.

“I truly am worried about today's twenty-somethings,” he frets. “They are our global generation and I have seen them move from hope and grand expectations for themselves and their world to anxiety and disillusionment. We can't afford to lose them,” he adds.

Oh, they don’t say!? Abortion and exploiting the youth brings their disillusionment? Wow. I wonder why. (sarc off)

They were exposed to the worst politician in American history and the absolute worst of human nature in politics. Of course they’re turned off.

The nice thing is, that this experience will open a lot of their young eyes and they’ll actually think for themselves in the upcoming years. I dare say that many will be hard core Conservatives before long after seeing the blatant lies from Obama and the Chicago gang politics they’ve thrust on all of us.

Zogby is worried. Not me. I’m happy. Less votes for Obama.

I wouldn’t get too excited about this. Many, if not most of them are ‘dropping out’ because 0bama hasn’t issued Directive 10-289 yet.

Not because of some attack of sanity

they’ll actually think for themselves in the upcoming years.

I really doubt that from what I have seen of this generation.

they wanted to make their meaningless lives feel more important, so they voted for the unvetted black guy to be a part of history. And now they have all been unemployed ever since.

If Zogby says they are now disillusioned, does that mean he admits that they were the victims of an illusion in 2008? I guess the dose of hopium is running out.

John Zogby is an idiot, hope isn’t to be found in grand promises by politicians, anyway.

"Get the new votes for our side."

Sure... If you can turn them into real Conservatives first.
It is the influx of big government demisocialist crony crapitalists into the Republican Party that is responsible for the sorry state the nation is in now.

No wonder. The groups hardest hit by the failed policies of Obama are workers aged 25-34. The unemployment rate for this group more than doubled from 5 percent to over 10 percent from 2008 to 2010. Blacks were hit the hardest. This rate does not include those that stopped looking for work.

“I really doubt that from what I have seen of this generation.”

Agreed. The bulk of them are dullards who voted for the turd to begin with.

The best thing for them is to not vote, actually.

If even the politically naive 26th Amendment voters aren’t excited about the Liberal Messiah, He’s in deep trouble.

Get the new votes for our side.

What our side ?

Isn't our side full of people who are saying they aren't going to vote because they can't get exactly the right kind of conservative? Like last time--they didn't vote, or they voted for Obama so they could teach the Republican Party a lesson?
