Zogby: Disillusioned young voters dropping out
Washington Examiner ^ | 6-11-12 | Paul Bedard

Nearly four years after enthusiastic younger voters poured into polling booths to help push Barack Obama over the finish line and into the Oval Office, their hope has turned to fear and pollster John Zogby says that they are ready to give up on politics.

“I truly am worried about today's twenty-somethings,” he frets. “They are our global generation and I have seen them move from hope and grand expectations for themselves and their world to anxiety and disillusionment. We can't afford to lose them,” he adds.

They are our global generation”

Here’s the problem. Start worrying more about America and less about the Globe and things will turn around.

But just yesterday, I read an editorial by a liberal lamenting that voters are too uninformed to vote. Shouldn’t they be glad one of the lesser informed groups is staying home?

2008 was like nothing I have witnessed before in my 50 years on this earth. I have poll watched many times for good candidates and bad ones. Believe me you...Mclame was one of the worst. I got stuck in in my own precinct which went only 50% hussein. Less than a mile away there were 70-30 dem precincts ripe for the watching.

Back to the subject...There were 18 year olds popping out everywhere. Seriously, I had never seen so many of them showing up in their communist caps all ready to vote for the first “ever so cool” black prez.

Well now lets fast forward 4 years. How is that hope and change crap working out for you or (4 u “in your language”). I will be shocked if I see any of those kids vote for him again.

ONCE DULY EDUCATED, they can be fashioned into Constitutional Conservatives. A GREAT opportunity for us. To also turn them, in youthful rebellion, against their Leftist professors. Tea Party should be at the forefront!

Sure... If you can turn them into real Conservatives first. ...then tell them they have to vote for Romney. That will certainly "reillusion" them. #gopfail

The liberals need a whole lot of inexperienced people to vote for their insanity.

That they voted in droves, whipped up to chant ‘oooo baaaaaa maaaaa, oooooo baaaaaa maaaa’ in that frienzied media and entertainment messiah reality show, is beyond pitiful.

Hopefully, they are too ashamed themselves to vote for a few years after falling for that. They probably can't afford the gas to get to the polling place given what their socialist idealism has dealt to the nation's economy and well being. They didn't know utopia has no jobs and no money.

Oh!! I think we can afford to lose them.

They voted in Obama and they are stupid enough to do it again.

We cannot afford not to lose them.

Words to remember when assessing the "balance" of Zogby polls...

Obama’s young adult army expects life to be handed to them on a silver platter. When it isn’t, they assume fetal position and blame everyone else.

This a great time for young conservatives. Contrary to dropping out, they can engage with hope and enthusiasm. They can be the shakers and movers of their generation.

Sounds like he is worried that his marxist messiah is not a lock for re-election. hehe.

That's exactly what he's worried about and he has every reason to be.

Obama is toast, and he's going to take a lot of other 'Rats down with him!

Good. The ignorant have a civic duty to not vote.

(And yes, I follow my own advice. I didn’t know a thing about Prop. 28 in California, so I didn’t vote on it. I didn’t know a thing about the gazillion judicial candidates either, so I didn’t vote for any of them.)

“global generation...hope and grand expectations for themselves and their world"

Moronic, meaningless dribble. Young people are generally stupid and it's just as well that they don't vote until they gain some wisdom.

My thoughts exactly. The ones that are tuned in are going to vote — even if they don’t vote the way I do. No loss whatsoever.
