Thousands of doctors and nurses may be sacked unless they agree to drastic changes to their pay and conditions as hospitals strive to make billions of pounds worth of savings, it has been claimed.
NHS bosses have suggested terminating all staff contracts and reoffering them on different terms, according to a leaked document obtained by The Sunday Times.
New terms could include pay cuts of up to 5%, an end to overtime for nights, weekends and bank holidays, and reduced holiday leave, the newspaper said.

This is what happens when govt. runs the healthcare system. One of the “unexpected results” of Obamacare (if it isn’t overturned) is that many physicians are going to exit private practice and find something more lucrative. Doctor shortage and longer waiting times...they’re coming.
How about cutting the salaries of the NHS bosses? Nooooo.....we cant have that.

The same will happen here. I will not spend the last years of my career working for the government. And by the way I get no weekend or holiday differential. I get no paid vacation or holidays as it is. But they will cut reimbursement further and dictate the kind of care I will be able to take of my patients. That’s why I will be out. Good luck finding a doc after Jan 2014 if this monster is not repealed
Funny, how the Europeans always look down their noses at us over slavery; of course, their “serfs” were, for all intents and purposes, slaves; looks like their doctors and nurses will be the new slaves.
I am so happy I only have about 10 years I have to continue my practice. I would be very upset if I was just starting out. I see the future and it is going to be ugly. Those with money to pay will get the best care those on .gov dime will be put in line. Everyone will slowly except this cause it is going to happen over time. I already feel the pinch. I already know private practice is dying on the vine. Younger physicians will become essentially totally dependent on .gov and they will follow the rules or perish. What I am concerned about is finding a great physician to take care of me in my old age. I think it will be very hard. I recommend that the elderly that are lucky enough to have children that care use those children to demand their parents be taken care of. Me I have no children or husband and it is terrifying to think about.

The Brits still think Monarchy is cute.. when it was Mob Rule by a Mob.. much as Democracy is Mob Rule by mobsters.. After saving their asses twice from the Germans they still were defeated ideologically by the Russians..

Most doctors will be forced to become bureaucrats. They’ll be working for Big Brother in Obamacare. The lines of patients will be longer than those at your local DMV.
If you think your doc is uncaring and insensitive now, just wait until you get a bureaucrat with stethoscope.
