An Arapahoe County Court judge has granted a request to seal the case against James Holmes, the 24-year-old shooter who killed 12 and wounded 50 during a screening last night of "The Dark Knight Rises."
The motion, filed in Arapahoe County court, asks for the records in the case to be sealed, including search warrants, affidavits, orders and the "case file."
... disclosure of the court records would be "contrary to public interest" and "could jeopardize the ongoing investigation."

What, exactly, is the meaning of ‘seal’? Does it mean you can’t access what the prosecution has amassed? I.E., the FOIA is negated in the case?

Oh I didn’t mean she would be upset about the sealing. I just meant in general she just drones on and on. In the Zimmerman case she just kept on and on about his guilt. I do not watch her show but when I would flip through the channels there she would be.
First of all, they have his computer now. The police chief said they were going to ‘talk’ to “everyone he ever knew throughout his entire life.” The fbi is on the case. And just like cho, jiverly voong, and loughner, you will never, ever see the dots connected...unless he was a rightwing critter...which he isn’t.

Does James have any siblings?? I don't think anyone has brought it up and I'm not sure why.
That is a presumption that is completely unwarranted - particularly if there is any third-party involvement in this crime.
There are always a large number of false leads in a serious conspiracy crime and innocent people will all too easily be targeted by lynch mobs or vigilantes based on incorrect data. It is probably best if the police keep their working lists confidential for some time to come.
However, a scheduled release of verified information had better be part of the plan for the follow-on investigation into the massacre.
If Obama and Holder can give weapons to Mexican drug cartels, maybe thousands of weapons, knowing full well Mexican, and possibly American citizens would be murdered with them, it would be NO problem for them to pull a stunt like this. Damn sure wouldn’t be ethics preventing it.
You do realize that every case you mentioned was a federal case?
As I understand it, this investigation is led by local law enforcement. Local. Boots on the ground, not in an office in Washington.
Give these guys some credit. I think they can handle it, and better without a nation full of noses in their business.
