Fifth Conspirator Pleads Guilty to Civil Rights Violation in Maryland
DOJ ^ | Monday, July 30, 2012 | FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Posted on 07/30/2012 10:14:19 PM PDT by Rabin

James Nowicki, 28, of Baltimore, pleaded guilty today to his involvement in hanging a raccoon on the porch... James conspired with Joshua Wall, Billy Pratt, Brittany Whedbee and Dena Whedbee to hang a dead raccoon from a noose. James admitted that he and Dena, his girlfriend, found a (dead) raccoon... and that he gave Wall a rope to make (with witch, co-con fabricated) a noose. “Today the department secured a guilty plea from the fifth (James) conspirator in a hateful scheme to intimidate an African family at their own home,” said Thomas E. Perez, Assistant Attorney General for Civil Right. “The Civil Rights Division will continue to aggressively prosecute acts of hate, which have no place in our country.”

I know. And it’s causing resentment and hatred in a lot of folks who at worst, were indifferent before, including me. People won’t take being slapped in the face and seeing their loved ones injured and killed with no repercussions to the criminal thugs forever. Not to mention the growing resentment over confiscated earnings being taken from children who study, behave, and do well in school, only to see it used exclusively to “close the achievement gap” at their expense. When people have their noses rubbed in it, no one should be surprised when they finally react.

I understand that this might be a tasteless and even a racist prank, but to make a Federal Case out of it, LITTERALLY! You have got to be kidding?!

Had MOST people found a dead raccoon, even one hanging from a noose on their porch, a knife to cut it down and a large plastic garbage bag to get rid of it would have been enough. i am almost certain a call to the local authorities would NOT have occurred. Much less one to the DOJ.

I respectfully disagree. I would call the cops - not because I felt that my civil rights were violated, but because I would suspect that anyone who commit such an act wasn't playing with a full deck. To bring in the Feds, though, defies credulity.

And they'll take a quick look at what happened over at MF Global just as soon as they're done with this...

BTW:

a rope to make (with witch, co-con fabricated) a noose.

So they also hanged a witch??? (I think the last press release on this, from a few weeks ago, was just as badly written.)

“To bring in the Feds, though, defies credulity.”

Gives you an idea as to how bloated our government has become; I’m glad at least at the municipal and state level here in NJ our workforce is contracting (there is no money left to pay them, whether investigating dead raccoons or real murders).

I’m surprised some race-based pressure group hasn’t started a movement to rename the raccoon to something a little less offensive.
