That Brutal Anti-Romney Ad Is Blowing Up In The Obama Campaign's Face
business Insider ^ | 8/8/2012 | Brett LoGiurato

On Tuesday, the Romney campaign blasted a nasty, controversial pro-Obama super PAC ad that blamed Mitt Romney for the death of a steelworker's wife after Bain Capital closed his plant and he lost health insurance.

The ad instantly came off as nasty, but it was further made damaged goods later in the day by CNN, when the network reported that Soptic's wife was laid off from her job in 2002 or 2003 and lost her health insurance.

She did not have health insurance through her husband's job.

President Barack Obama's campaign had been pleading ignorance, distancing itself from the super PAC ad.

But earlier this year, the Obama campaign featured the same worker, Joe Soptic, as a prominent part of its own attack on Romney's handling of GST Steel as the CEO of Bain Capital.

On "Morning Joe" today, Obama senior adviser Robert Gibbs said he had "seen some write-ups" of the ad and said he didn't know the "specifics of this man's case."

No argument here about this disgusting ad. HOWEVER, Romney’s spokesperson has blown it today by saying the woman would have lived if she was in Mass. with Romneycare. Collassal FAIL!
How to blow it man! Fire her ass and do it now before you can’t dig yourself outa’ this one. I swear I am going to crack up if this jack#$@ loses this race. It is his to win but today was not a good day.
That VP pick better be extra-ordinary!
Paging Palin....Please come to the front office we have a Keynote speech for you to give.

Obama runs dirty campaigns. Disgustingly filthy. Obama is exactly what’s wrong with govt.

Actually, the most delicious thing about this is Obama playing innocent and blaming a PAC, claiming to have nothing to do with the ad, means Romney can do the same. I trust the PACs on our side have noticed this and are warming up a barrage of nasty (true) ads savaging both Obama’s Presidential record and past statements, associations, actions to hide his past. . .

When anyone cries foul, run the tape of Obama denying responsibility for the actions of a pro-Obama PAC, and dryly note that no one can control the enthusiasms of their supporters, just the actions of their own campaign organization.

This ad is just Obama's inner Goebbels speaking. Tell a big lie over and over and it will dominate the news cycle.

Anything to keep people from thinking about what a disaster Obama has been to the nation.

Tell any lie, no matter how outrageous. Spew it out. Muddy the waters and people will either spend time talking about the lie instead of Obama's record or grow weary and stop listening.

The guy lies about his dead wife for political advantage? And they call us haters? How much would any of us have to hate in order to lie about a dead loved one?

When it comes to dems, there is no bottom.

Exactly.

I had relatives who were steelworkers back in the glory days. Even they questioned the wisdom of these high wages and top of the line benefits.

My favorite benefit was the 13 week vacation. After x years of service, an employee was entitled to 13 weeks paid vacation in one year, every five years. My uncle once said he thought it was a ridiculous benefit — after about two weeks, he was bored out of his skull and couldn’t wait to get back to work — and that one day this benefit would become so expensive to the company, that jobs would be lost. Sure enough, when the steel industry in this country collapsed, his employer folded.

“same shirt in obama’s ad and the super-pac ad, and the obama campaign wants to claim they don’t know nuttin’....lolol”

Hear, hear. Everyone concerned should watch these two ads. Will a reporter out there notice this and report it in the MSM? What a joke.

How about all the people that will die because of his IPAB death panels, 500B in Medicare cuts, and all of those that lose insurance because of 0-care.

My first thought when I heard that ad was why in the world didn’t that man “man-up” and take care of his family. When faced with no insurance he should have gone out and found something he could afford instead of just whining about it and blaming it on someone else because it wasn’t “free” anymore. Libs are mentally ill.

“That was an “ad”? I thought it was just more of Barry’s chickensh-t lies and propaganda.”

There’s a difference?

I can imagine the campaign conference:

“So what are we going to put in our ads?”

A young staffer speaks up “Well, we could have one that goes into all the accomplishments Obama’s had...”

... crickets...

finally someone pipes up “I know, lets accuse Romney of being a felon and killing people.”

heads starts nodding “yeah, thats the ticket”

Someone should check to see if Ranae Soptic is still getting a ballot in the mail. Bet she hasn’t missed an election since 2006.

I could tell you Boeing stories from family that would make you sick. Actually sad. They get way overpaid but once they retire the union finds all ways to screw them because “other peoples money is just not there”. The unions and the Democrats stole it.

Maybe blaming someone else is the only way he knows how to deal with his losses and his bitterness over those losses. Making a couple of ads about that bitterness is another thing, though. That was truly pathetic.
