DHS Orders 750 Million More Rounds Of Ammo
The Alt-Market.com ^ | 13 August, 2012 | various

The federal government, specifically the Department of Homeland Security, is buying up huge amounts of ammunition and there seems to be no end in sight. Again, this is nothing new as the DHS has refused to explain their purchase of 450 million hollow points and has ordered "up to" 650-750 million rounds of ammo and also seems to be looking for more weapons as well.

In late October, when Obama’s campaign advisers give him the bad news that he’s going to lose in an historic landslide, the govt. will need lots of ammo, once the people are told that the election will be suspended.

lol...

How many DHS employees have actually been involved in shooting?

I guess they spend most of their time at the range getting ready.

As I have seen on several of the Prepper threads and I roughly paraphrase:

When the SHTF, I’ll know where to go to get some ammunition.

I’m not sure if I should add a “/s” to that.

The Dyke wants to make sure that no resistance is encountered when she and her Commie buddies move to seize the property and impose their rule without the annoyance of elections.

Oh sorry, there will be elections, just one party to vote for.

Theirs.

this is an amendment to that original April solicitation for leaded target ammo, per the title.

FLETC - Federal law enforcement training center.

Not *sure* this is worth the hoopla. Just not sure.

There wasn’t a legitimately explainable explanation of purchasing 450 million rounds of 9mm hollow point ammunition, let alone and additional 750 million, to boot!

We are looking at a non-military agency, supposedly chartered to protect us from terrorist from without, acquiring over a billion rounds of ammunition! What we are looking at is a three-round burst for each and every citizen in this country if it comes to that.

If that doesn’t make you crap your pants, I don’t know what else would.

DHS is soaking up supply.

They are neither staffed nor chartered to make use of this demand.

Excellent line item for budget cut....along with current management staff.

They can’t ‘soak up’ what’s already been bought.

The purpose of this purchase is to keep the ammo off the civilian market. The increased demand will cause shortages and of course, increased prices.

There is no way this ammunition could even be used ... and that's with every federal employee firing a thousand rounds a day.

This is merely a round-about method of gun control by making the ammo scarce, expensive, and thus harder for civilians to obtain.

Have you seen the new stuff they are buying? A Freeper here took pictures of a bunch of Black armored DHS SUVs transiting to somewhere on a railroad....

Are you saying the government is buying up the same ammunition (lead cored) that they want to ban?

Obviously DHS uses the spray and pray technique.
I kind of like controlled, aimed fire myself.

Just reading the title of the solicitation. Might be materially different on the inside.

They are driving the cost to us up and when they don’t use them will just destroy them and not even allow citizens whose tax money bought the stuff to purchase the surplus. When democraps runt he government, this is the sort of arrogant crap that results.

It's a significant increase for whatever reason; amendment to the original solicitation or not. I suppose the reason DHS doesn't use an existing DOD contract is due to the massive quantities of “special” ammunition required.
