On the days of September 8th and 9th, Gravis Marketing, a non-partisan research company, and Capitol Correspondent conducted a survey of 2,238 likely voters in the state of Virginia. The survey covered the same questions as the August survey, which comprised questions regarding the presidential election, Virginia’s senate race, the direction of the United States, and the effect of a libertarian candidate on Romney and Obama. Overall, from August to the most recent survey, Obama’s 44% to 40% lead has turned into a Romney lead of 49% to 44% in the most recent poll. Interestingly, Obama didn’t lose votes, rather Romney gained previously unsure voters or voters that previously planned on voting for a different candidate.

it’s nearly impossible for Romney to win without Ohio, he would need to pick up Michigan, and it’s hard to see Romney losing Ohio and winning Michigan.

I received similar promises from Team McCain's online suck-ups, four years ago... and he was doing far better in the polls, at that point, than Mittens is now.
I've learned to be just a wee bit more skeptical now, as a direct result. ;)

This is consistent with what I’ve seen on the ground in the last 10 days. A lot more willard signs and stickers. Willard seems to be breaking out a bit. I personally don’t think the margin is that big but the trend is going willard*.
The great news here is of course that George Allen is winning against the eyebrow.
*Full disclosure: I think willard is a rotten candidate, a poseur, etc. and I fully intend to vote second party against him. However I see no reason to be dishonest about what I see.
Well, not to appear too hopeful or biased but we do have a few more Romney signs here. We have a guy who owns land at a major junction of roads that just about everyone sees during the day. He always has Republican signs up and today has huge R&R signs as well as Allen and our local congressman, Forbes. Only one puny Obambutt sign close by...
May not mean anything (maybe no Obummer money) but pretty different than ‘08.
