So a majority of America hates ObamaCare, but we are to believe from the polls that they want to vote to seal the deal once and for all?? I am NOT buying it! Think about it... GOP candidates need to beat the drums of war against ObamaCare and remind America that ANY hope of killing it rests with the results of this election. This is the LAST chance!!
Dream on.
The GOP-controlled House voted to repeal 0bamacare (entirely symbolic; not a chance in Hell it would get through the Senate) but then voted to continue funding it.
There are two possibilities:
1) Either Americans have become too stupid and corrupt to effectively govern themselves, meaning that in an essential way our republic is now a failed state; or
2) The polls lie.
Some days I believe one, some days the other.
48 Million on Food Stamps and unemployed Govt. workers at 5.1% is What wants to preserve this rot.
Neither Romney nor the majority of Republicans in Congress are going to work to repeal Obamacare.
What we DO comprehend about it is abjectly negative, fraudulent and DANGEROUS!
Flush it in 2013 ASAP!
I’m guessing 60%, don’t even know what it entails or what would really happen with it. Most people only know what they’ve read about it on the internet or in the media...and that depends on their source.
In the next four years, you might see the GOPe fighting to retain ObamaCare as the free market alternative to a single payor national health system which is the Rats ultimate goal.
What do you propose this congress does when nothing to repeal or not fund will make it through the Senate? As much as I don’t like it, our side takes a drubbing every time there is a congressional standoff. There is no way we can do that right before this election. All we can do is run on it to get a new senate and the whitehouse.
They love the freebees but hate the taxes and mandates, at least the ones that cost themselves.
That is why when Republicans passed medicare expansion 2004 they made it a 100% freebees bill. make EVERYONE HAPPY
Good luck trying to prove broad principles when self interest is involved.
“My tax cut creates jobs”
“My stimulus check creates jobs”
Common principle?? =”MY”
Republicans need to reform parts of the medical care system. If an uninsured person gets a bad cold they can go to any hospital that takes federal money and get treatment. That works out to taxpayers picking up an $800 hospital bill for what should have been a $70 doctor’s visit. That needs to be reformed. An efficient but cheaper alternative can be found.
The House has sole authority to spend money.
If the GOP members of the House (they are in the majority, remember) were serious about getting rid of 0bamacare, rather than just political theater for the rubes, their spending bills would exclude funding for 0bamacare.
its called mental illness
Can't put it anymore succinctly than that!
The problem is they do not want RomneyCare either. Romney first said he would issue exemptions, then he said he would repeal it. Next was he would repeal and replace. He also says he is proud of RomneyCare. A change in NAME does not make it acceptable. Everyone knew that ObamaCare would not be a winning issue when they voted for Romney.
Free market alternative? When Big Brother mandates a ton of coverages in an insurance policy that the consumer doesn't feel he needs nor wants, there is NO "free market"!!!
Didnt the Republican House just fully fund Obama-care in that 6 month CR they just passed a few days ago?
that could make opposiing it more tricky.
but all is not lost. Those defense cuts passed last year will still go into effect in January or December when the Obama -care $$$ is being dished out.
