Short CBS newscast at noon (ET) Friday on the filmmaker taken into custody on probation violations. I was taken aback by Raviv say, and I checked the broadcast posted at the URL to make sure I had heard right.

ANCHOR (Steve Kathan) "The man behind the anti-Islam video that sparked outrage in the Muslim world is still in jail in Los Angeles for a probation violation.
RAVIV "I'm Dan Raviv in Washington. The short movie posted on YouTube has had a lot of diplomatic impact. It was *clearly* designed to insult the Prophet Mohammed, and a senior Obama administration official told CBS News last week that no one in the Middle East seems to believe that the US government could not stop the film from getting out. Now at least Federal authorities might be able to *punish* the filmmaker."

OK, this was only a short newscast, but it seemed dance very close to blurring the line between punishment for probation violation and for the film.

I spent 25 years working in uniform in NY state prisons, alongside convicts and parole officers. Unless the probation violation was of a more serious nature, or they had committed several violations, they weren’t sent back to prison. We seldom got parole violators back.
Theres every reason to believe this was a botched October Surprise

It's a standard condition of probation for people convicted of computer-assisted frauds, as this guy was (he stole social security numbers off the internet and used them to open phony bank accounts).
I defer to your experience...might be different in GA and Fl for drug crimes.
so now we can not have free speech of even state facts about muslims and them praying to a child molester but putting a cross in urine or homosexuals dressing as nuns and having public sex on their freak parades is alright.

Great posting! What a piece of trash the NY Slimes is. I wish a Republican with balls would publicly bash the Slimes every day. It would be great if a bunch of Republicans would bash this slimy paper every day.

Besides the other more obviously outrageous contentions, it is interesting that the “objective” news anchor would have no qualms about asserting that Mohammed is in fact a “prophet”.
I guess whether one is a legitimate “prophet” is not subjective but a matter of fact? I always thought there were actual qualifications for being a prophet.
If Americans valued or even understood what our “President” is about to take from us; they would be standing up for this man and letting Muslims know they will not take away our rights. But face it, everyone is scared witless of Muslims. America had better wake up to the fact that they won’t rest until they take over. Our gutless government isn’t going to do one thing to protect us any more than they did the Embassy in Benghazi.
By the way, Muslims’ elevating a dead man above my living Savior is an affront to MY Christian faith so how many of them is it understandable by our “fearless leader” that we torture and murder?
That the President of our nation is so clueless as to our founding principles is sickening and it looks like we will soon have to fight to keep those principles if there are enough of us left to even care.
You don’t have to worry about being jailed. No, they’ll take your bank account, your car or maybe even your home first. Plus penalties. :(
