Will An Obama Victory Spark A Civil War In The US?
The Western Center for Journalism ^ | September 29, 2012 | Lawrence Sellin, Ph.D.

America is on the verge of fragmentation and civil conflict because its citizens have lost control of their government and lost faith in its political institutions.

Nineteenth century political satirist Ambrose Bierce once described Washington D.C. as a strife of interests masquerading as a contest of principles and the conduct of public affairs for private advantage.

Indeed. Not much has changed one hundred years on.

The August 27, 2012 Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just eight percent (8%) of likely voters think that the US Congress is doing a good job.

Most Americans agree that the Democrat and Republican establishments are infested by individuals whose allegiance is not to their country, but to themselves and their political party. Their aim is to be unconstrained by the Constitution and the rule of law and unaccountable to the American people. Their conduct is driven by political expediency and winning elections for the sole purpose of obtaining power and profit.

The US has elections, but it no longer has representative government. The US has a free press, but one that is partisan and dishonest.

“Will An Obama Victory Spark A Civil War In The US?”

No. Of course not. Not yet.

BUT… it will be “one more brick in the wall”. Actually, a second Obama victory will put many more bricks into that wall.

I’ve been writing here on FR for a few years now about the increasing “divide” in America, the Great Divide that has occurred between those who value the freedoms and cultural mores of “traditional America”, and those who embrace “the new slavery” through which all their needs will [seemingly] be taken care of, in exchange for their freedom.

The two sides are irreconcilable and the gap between them has now become a chasm. It is unbridgeable because there is no way for either side to accept ANY core value the other side embraces. The two factions loathe each other. They hate our guts, and I guess we can say the same about them.

On November 7, this will be more apparent than it has yet been. There will be no “coming together” the day after this election. The election itself will come to be seen as the “choosing of sides” — there will be few “in the middle” afterwards. Actually, the polls illustrate this now, with either camp locked in the mid-high 40% range, with next-to-no one in between.

Will “the wall” that’s being built between Americans and their government come a-tumblin’ down?

That’s a question that the traditional Americans will have to ask themselves, and eventually have to answer.

I see two possible futures:

1. The triumph of the socialist/authoritarian state in America. “Impossible!”, many Freepers will shout back in anger. But look around — the seeds are being sown. We are certainly moving towards European-style socialism. How much “Orwell” we get along with it seems limited only by how fast technology, and government’s desire to use it to monitor and control us, evolves. At the same time we will see increasing ethnic conflict within the borders, with the heavy hand of government as the only means by which to keep the lid on the pot. A grim future, indeed.

The time will come, perhaps an Obama victory and the next four years may accelerate that, when traditional Americans will have to decide to either accept choice #1, or…

2. …. Consider withdrawing from what that America has become, and re-congregate themselves into certain geographic areas in which they can maintain an overwhelming majority amongst themselves.

Most conservatives would probably be happy to undertake such a migration, provided that they could live amongst themselves semi-autonomously and be left alone by “the left” which is slowly but inexorably gaining an ever-tighter grip on American government and institutions.

However, it’s the left that can never permit this, because they will never tolerate any portion of the people aspiring to live free of their diktats. Instead, they will use every power they can muster, including that of the military and increasingly-militarized civilian police forces, to keep the traditional Americans under their boot.

At that point it becomes the decision of traditional America.
Will we submit?
Or……?

Wrong date! Nov 7, Obama zombies on the rampage! If you live in an urban area, a blue city, keep your kids home from school and wait to see what happens, hopefully nothing!

Can you image the heart attacks the liberal elite would have if conservatives to go Ghandi Galt on them?

Gandhi succeeded because he had a nominally-civilized opponent.

Had the Imperial Japanese Army made it as far as India, his headless bayoneted corpse would have last been seen floating down the Ganges.

Our opponents have far more in common with the IJA than with the British Empire.

The left will blame the Tea Party on any post election violence and the GOP-E will join in on the persecution.

If the Republicans would nominate another RINO in 2016 ...

If The Won is reelected, there will be only one name on the ballot in 2016, and it will be pre-marked for the voter's convenience.

An obama win? No.

If he loses...all heck is breaking loose before Jan. 20, 2013

With "our" nominee leading the charge.

Count me in if there’s another American Revolution. I’m an honorably discharged Marine who can still max out a 300 PFT.

A national strike would be a beautiful thing.

We’d never be able to pull it off. Too many H1B’s, too much outsourcing.

I’d love to give a try though, if only we had some way of organizing it.

Look at how long we have been waiting for an uprising and all the while our country is being destroyed from within.

If Obama wins, those of us that still have employment may lose it anyway.

Since 2009, I have not owned a TV, nor paid one dime for any entertainment, zero support for liberal media.

(puzzled look) So you walk to get the internet at the local library/B&N/Coffee house every time you want to "browse the 'net?"

Wow....

Honey Boo’s family is more prepared to handle the evil one’s destruction of the country more than most are. They have plenty of tp, love cheap spaghetti and their lives don’t revolve around the latest fashions and gadgets.

The article is good, except the author begins with a false premise. Here's the first sentence:

"America is on the verge.....of conflict because its citizens have lost control of their government and lost faith in its political institutions."

I posit that here the writer has turned things around, thereby turning we, the citizens, into perps.

Citizens have NOT lost control of their government. Our government is an inanimate object, the brainchild of the Founders. We have a wonderful FORM of government. The truth is that it's the POLITICIANS AND BUREAUCRATS, not us, who have lost control of THEMSELVES.....wild spending, getting us into unimagineable debt, putting folks out of work, turning our great FORM of government into socialism.....let me count the ways.

Secondly, citizens have NOT lost faith in our political institutions. Our political institutions are historic and noble....and we heartily trust the institutions themselves as they exist in FORM. It's the POLITICIANS and the LEFTIST MOLES in this country that have subverted, overrun, altered and in many cases, destroyed, the great traditional institutions developed since the Founding.

I, for one, still and will always have faith in both our form of government and in our political institutions which have served us well over two centuries.

As an example of attacks on our venerable political institutions, and whether Obama wins or loses, watch for the Left to campaign for eliminating the political institution of the Electoral College. If they are successful, we will have mob rule and we can kiss our republic form of government goodby.

The writer of the above article is a highly educated man. I hope he hasn't lost faith in our SYSTEM of academia which has given us the best colleges and universities in the world. Since this institutional SYSTEM of higher learning has been almost completely infiltrated and subverted by socialists, marxists and haters of America, I hope he is working his utmost not only to keep the original intent and lofty goals of academia healthy, but to throw the subvertors and radicals out with the bathwater.

Our great form of government and our proven political institutions are worth saving and holding onto for dear life.

Otherwise, the rest of the article is excellent.

Keep the faith.

Leni

It very well could because people are counting on the election to oust the communist. It is kind of their last chance kind of election.

I think it could get pretty ugly because Obama doesn’t follow the rule of law. He rules by fiat.

Jut this morning I was mentioning if people were willing to cancel their cell phone acounts, the Obamaphones would have to be shut off.

Thing is, are people willing to do that? I doubt it.

Not necessarily, but if he keeps on governing like the last four years, you betcha!

There could easily be a similar sort of effort should Romney win and the Soros team do to us what he/they has/have done to other countries in the past. They want obama, but it won't matter.

There is also the end game of the Cloward-Piven strategy they've worked so hard to bring about among others that could each or all be run against the Republic should they deem the time is right.

Suck as he might as a candidate, the country truly does need someone with Romney's skill set and the character and integrity that were once the common traits of a church Bishop, regardless of faith.

If there's something to that Mormon white horse prophecy, I hope that Mitt's the man we've been waiting for!
