A new poll finds that Mitt Romney's secretly recorded comments about the "47 percent" of Americans who do not pay taxes did more to turn voters off than President Obama's "You didn't build that" remark at a campaign rally in Virginia.
According to a survey released Tuesday night by NBC News and The Wall Street Journal, 45 percent of voters said Romney's comments at a private fundraiser gave them a negative impression of the candidate. Alternatively, 23 percent said the comment gave them a more positive review of the candidate.
There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what, Romney says in video from the event, made public by Mother Jones. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to healthcare, to food, to housing, to you name it.
Romney adds his "job is not to worry about those people. I'll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives.
By contrast, voters actually had a positive impression of Obama's "you didn't build that" line during a rally in Roanoke, Va. Some 36 percent of respondents said they had a positive reaction to the comment, versus 32 percent who reported a negative reaction.
"If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you've got a business you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen," the president said in July.

If its a poll from NBC “News” you can basically wipe your butt cheeks with it
That was as far as I needed to read to know this was nonsense...
New America may be getting what it deserves.
Of course when you over sample Dems you get a favorable take for the Dem candidate. Reverse the polling sample and you get exactly the opposed result
Yet another garbage media poll
This should not surprise-—the number of folks who receive Federal assistance is vastly larger than the number of entrepreneurs.
Joy, another NBC News poll.
No, the black ink from the print marks up your butt and ends up staining your underwear. Trust me.
Not surprising, really.
47% of the people have no idea they could build anything. Being told they didn’t build it means nothing.
People need a reason to vote for them. How about the fact that the federal government is robbing us blind and some of the money goes to terrorists.
Romney needs a righteously angry mod to win. Time to whip one up. Where's the Reagan welfare queen?
The fact the media believe this is newsworthy proves that they are so invested in Obama's re-election that they've completely lost their minds.
..or because I have not seen one ad about it since it happened a couple of months ago!! Romney needs to get back on that horse, NOW!!!
If it is from NBC/WSJ it came from your buttcheeks
The traction occurred because the “media,” an organ of the regime, relays the regime`s direction to believe and support liberal talking points. The American electorate has proven it`s a rather submissive and obedient bunch when you dangle freebies in front of its collective nose.
When the SHTF, let’s hope the irate Takers will burn down the news outlets first.
On the other hand, almost on a daily basis Obama is mocked by someone saying you/they didn't build that.
Another lying poll. What else can you expect?
I just wish that we could get the upper middle class and the wealthy, to vote like the people collecting social security.
Here’s something Mitt can talk about instead of acting like a scaredy cat:
In the last fiscal year alone, 1,705 people were disqualified from Mississippi’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program - SNAP - for making false claims and bilking the program out of more than $2.7 million, according to data obtained by the Daily Journal.
