Did Obama Just Throw The Entire Election Away?
The Daily Beast ^ | Oct. 8, 2012 | Andrew Sullivan

The Pew poll is devastating, just devastating. Before the debate, Obama had a 51 - 43 lead; now, Romney has a 49 - 45 lead. That's a simply unprecedented reversal for a candidate in October. Before Obama had leads on every policy issue and personal characteristic; now Romney leads in almost all of them. Obama's performance gave Romney a 12 point swing! I repeat: a 12 point swing.

Romney's favorables are above Obama's now. Yes, you read that right. Romney's favorables are higher than Obama's right now. That gender gap that was Obama's firewall? Over in one night:

Currently, women are evenly divided (47% Obama, 47% Romney). Last month, Obama led Romney by 18 points (56% to 38%) among women likely voters.

Seriously: has that kind of swing ever happened this late in a campaign? Has any candidate lost 18 points among women voters in one night ever? And we are told that when Obama left the stage that night, he was feeling good. That's terrifying. On every single issue, Obama has instantly plummeted into near-oblivion. He still has some personal advantages over Romney - even though they are all much diminished. Obama still has an edge on Medicare, scores much higher on relating to ordinary people, is ahead on foreign policy, and on being moderate, consistent and honest (only 14 percent of swing voters believe Romney is honest). But on the core issues of the economy and the deficit, Romney is now kicking the president's ass:

By a 37% to 24% margin, more swing voters say Romney would improve the job situation. Swing voters favor Romney on the deficit by a two-to-one (41% vs. 20%) margin.... Romney has gained ground on several of these measures since earlier in the campaign.

Many of us have been saying this is going to be a blowout. This is further evidence than we are, indeed, correct. Romney is now EVEN with The Disaster with Women.

And I would wager that the Pew poll over-samples Democrats by at least 3 %. This is great news.

It is only going to get worse with Crazy Joe this week and the damaged Disaster floundering around in two more debates.
These fools think he “threw” something away. He did not and never had a chance against Romney. The disaster is SO far out of his league, being only of average intelligence, it is pathetic.

Now even the average doofus sees this.

Four weeks is an eternity and folk are extremely fickle. The majority of Americans have short term memories...

Indeed - remember that we are talking here about the squishy independents and undecideds; all the sane people will vote for Romney no matter what and all the leeches and "we know what's best for you" elites will vote for the fraud currently in the White House no matter what.

These "independent" and undecided people have obviously no clue, no principles and no convictions and don't think deeply enough to know what they stand for. If they can be swayed from favoring the communist to favoring the moderate conservative based on one debate, they can be swayed back just as easily by something pretty superficial, such as some kind of October surprise or how confidently the fraud holds his head high in the next debate.

As long as Obama does better in the next debate (it’s a town meeting, so very different), he’ll be declared a winner, even if it’s a tie.

Doesn't matter if the MSM does declare Obama the winner. The people are going to have the last word on that decision.

This piece, and more to come from the MSM, are being written now to set up the "Obama, Comeback Kid" narrative. From the depths of despair, the Messiah will lead them all.

I know that a month is a long time in politics, but with only 29 days remaining before the election, there's no way for the MSM to pull off a real comeback for Obama. Especially not with Romney ascending the way he is. Anything they try now, is going to look like a desperation ploy.

Obama's one and only chance to pull off a win, is to somehow convince the American people that he truly is the better qualified candidate. Given his record of disastrous mis-governance over the last four years, and his utter incompetence, it's an impossible task. He simply isn't made of that sort of stuff.

WTF? There's not a grain of truth in obama's ranking in any of those categories.

The debate was just a good opportunity to start honest polling in order not to be totally discredited by the election. Obama was never, ever, never at 51%.

No because it wasn’t his at the time. Skewed polls showed him up big, but he really wasn’t so NO he did not throw it away.

I thought the SNL skit where the mod tells Obama that Romney just said he killed Bin Laden and he asked him (O) if he wanted to respond and O says “No, you two keep going” was pretty funny.

I figure the plan was to save the introduction of all the red meat attacks for Biden in the second debate : women, Hispanics, Gays, 47%. I figure that since Romney is ready to say the 47% was a mistake if asked in a debate, it will work better for them (O-team) if Biden forces Ryan to say that Romney was wrong on Thursday.

I doubt Biden will slip up with a gaffe as he does in those unscripted rally moments. This is a good test for Ryan to see if he can look confident and assertive as Biden goes mad dog on him.

This is what happens when liberals discover the truth they have been denying.

Obama is not a good debater--he never has been. Hillary cleaned his clock every Dim debate in 2008. But to the Obamanauts, they could not see past his halo, and could not hear anything but harp music emanating from his aura. McCain (an average debater, just look at the 2008 Republican primary debates) actually outperformed Obama in the debates. The problem was, Obama and the moderators hung the George W. Bush millstone around McCain's neck, and McCain was forced to defend Bush, rather than himself.

Obama is also not a very good extemporaneous public speaker. Just watch sans-teleprompter.

Obama is an adequate speech reader. He has little passion or emotion in his speeches, and models his delivery on Martin Luther King Jr. He has a good use of timing, pause, and vocal variation. He would make an excellent television newsreader. That said, his delivery style, once uplifting, now seems bland--everyone has heard it too much.

Obama has been exposed for what he is: as a politician and candidate, an empty suit. As a diplomat: ineffectual. As a political dealmaker and negotiator: AWOL. As a President: a failure, in over his head.

The liberals don't want to accept it, because the truth is they knew it all along. They new he had a paper thin resume. They thought hoped personality could trump competence. That is why they voted Obama over Hillary.

"could The Obamaphone lady have been driven from the bronx NY to cleveland on one of those buses? (or a van as she claimed)"

I was watching Breitbart's "Occupy Unmasked" movie and I saw a protesting lady who was a dead ringer for Obamaphone lady protesting outside CPAC.
