President Barack Obama settled into a Virginia resort Saturday, plotting to transform his pitch to voters after a lackluster first clash with Mitt Romney dampened his re-election hopes.
The Republican nominee, fresh from slating Obama over the attack on the US consulate in Benghazi, opened another foreign policy row, over China, accusing the president of standing by while "cheating" Beijing manipulates its currency.
Shell-shocked Democrats want a more feisty and dynamic Obama to show up at the second debate at Hofstra University in New York on Tuesday, after the president's meek effort 10 days ago sent his poll numbers tumbling.
To prepare, the president planned four days of cramming at the picturesque Kingsmill golf resort outside the historic colonial town of Williamsburg in the heart of Virginia, a state that could help Obama claim a second White House term.
Twenty-five days before the November 6 election, Obama huddled with senior aides and was taking on Senator John Kerry, who is playing Romney, in a series of mock debates.

I'm guessing that, in college, he had a sheik buy him an A for each and every test (but if so, why hide his transcripts).
The sheik probably said, "instead of buying you an A, why don't I just buy the school and hide your grades."
Or "why don't I just buy the school and you don't even go to class."

I got the feeling that Biden knew the questions down to the comma’s and periods. Prepared for everything, yeah, and I have a bridge to sell.
Camp David is in Maryland. Williamsburg is in Virginia. Obama wants to win Virginia, so he is spending money there. A conscientious president would be practical and choose Camp David.
I do love Williamsburg at this time of year. It is a spooky kind of place, and I don’t mean the spy kind or the racial kind. Maybe Obama will be visited by some of the area’s ghosts. Heh

Why does he have to go to a resort to cram for the debate.
I would bet there are quiet rooms at the White House or at Camp David.Of course being a hundred miles away from Wide Load is a plus, but it is costing us a fortune to put up the Secret Service in rooms in Williamsburg.
I believe the Golf Course was a major consideration.
The Obamas do not like Camp David - too rustic, too American, too rural.
As to debate prep, if Obama wants to grow a pair, he needs to dial in Kerry’s wife, Theresa Heinz, because she wears the pants in that household.

Camp David?? You can’t be serious, man. The elevation of that place is 1,840 ft. The elevation of Williamsburg, VA is 82 ft. The increase in pressure coming from that high in the mountains to sea level could have caused POTUS brains to swell and possibly ooze out of his ears and nose, causing him to give a poor debate performance. Much, much better for him to blow another $10 million for a posh resort.
