Posted on 10/21/2012 9:32:04 AM PDT by Pedrobud

We all know there MUST be major changes in government due to waste, fraud, etc. Want to get ideas what Romney should implement in the new administration.

>>On top of that, repeal obamacare, change the ROE for or military to something that doesn’t leave them defenseless, countermand every single executive order hussein issued, fire every single czar and appointee put in place by hussein. Then on day two he can start rebuilding the Country.<<

Grant all 50 states exemptions of obamacare, sign an XO suspending all administrative actions implementing it, pending Congressional repeal.

Investiate Barry’s birth certificate so we can legally know that he is NOT a US citizen and we can throw out ALL of his signatures. Send armed federal agents to Hawaii to get the documents they claim they have but will not release and prove they do not have them.

Do what Clinton did — and what GWB failed to do: Fire every single federal prosecutor and replace them with your own people.

LOL! You forgot to have that second cup of coffee this morning.

Michael Bolton has a nice voice, but I will go with the man with the ‘stache: John Bolton.

My other recommendation is to defund the left as suggested by a prior poster. That may take four years because they are inextricably intertwined with government. The low hanging fruit (e.g., abolish the Dept. of Education) is pretty easy. The rest will be a slog, but a worthwhile endeavor.

Reduce all federal employee wages and pensions by 25%. Eliminate the Dept of Education, Dept of Energy and EPA...for starters.

I have read most of these posts and you are all dreaming. The government will still grow under romney. Regulations will still be forthcoming. We thought bush would kill a lot of programs and he had both houses. romney will be more of the same. Watch this hand while I stab you in the back with the other hand.

Don’t get me wrong, I will still be pulling the lever for the R ticket all the way down. But I am in commiefornia so my vote won’t count for chit!

Continue dreaming!

Get rid of the EPA and Lisa Jackson. Roll back every environmental regulation imposed during Obozo’s fraudulent term.

He should review regulations and remove a whole bunch that quash entrepreneural and small business establishment and growth. This is particularly true in the natural resource/environmental areas. For instance, the Organic Act directive of the Forest Service is to increase water supplies and produce a continuous stream of timber for industry. The Multiple Use and Sustained Yield Act added recreation, wildlife, and other uses to that mandate. Clinton ADMINSTRATIVELY added the whole bit about ecosystem management. This has shut down all other uses that are actually at Congressional direction. We are no longer serving the purpose for which the Forests were set aside.

We need to look at the EPA and the whole net of Agenda 21 high level committees that are administratively imposing top-down controls on our natural resources.

They say all wealth originates in natural resource development. If we are to stimulate the economy, then we have to closely examine our policies that continue to push industry off shore and destroy the economic base of our rural areas. This starts at the source - natural resource development (energy, food and fiber, minerals.)

This will never happen but I’d start with every agency that doesn’t clearly fall under the reserved powers of the federal govt. and cut them 20% a year until they’re gone. That would give 4 years for the people to put together a constitutional amendment that would give the government such power if they choose to grant such power and can. If the people want to keep any of these agencies they will have to compromise on the powers that such an agency will have and spell them out in the amendment. This would obviously greatly reduce the power any such agency would have and give a good legal argument to stop expansion of power in that agency in the future.

For instance: I think we do need a limited EPA b/c the way the states handle the environment will sometimes affect other states and there needs to be someone looking out for the environmental interests on federal lands.

This isn’t a power granted to the federal govt. so, in order to justify that new power, we need a constitutional amendment. This sets the bar so high that all sides will need to compromise and we hopefully end up with an agency with very limited powers specifically designed to deal with problems that arise between states.

Go through every agency in the federal govt. this way and re-establish the constitution as the sole source of federal power. I think few of them would survive the amendment process and those that do would be greatly limited, but more importantly, they would have validity under the constitution.

May I suggest that whenever this thread runs its course, a freeper close to the Romney camp share this info. I am sure there are seveal ideas that would be part of the first 100 days in office. Maybe even first day in office!

I think there is a good consensus that a government purge is in order.

The planning for this should begin now, with the RNC, and the senate (potential) and house committee chairmen compiling long lists of appointees and bureaucrats who have misused their offices.

Because it can be very difficult to fire GS bureaucrats, the first step should be to transfer thousands of them to agencies slated for closure. If they are fired outright they can sue, but if their agency is discontinued, tough.

The next step will be the agency closures themselves. Cabinet officers should be appointed to shut down their various agencies, presenting budgets to congress that reflect this “downsizing”.

These closures should be done one after the other, because the Democrats will bitterly object to any closures, and by the time they can muster support to try and preserve some agency, distract them by shutting down another one.

After this, then the congressional committees will work full time to produce budgets - a big part of which will be to convert allocations that are currently micromanaged by the bureaucracy, into block grants to the states, left up to the states to manage as long as they meet minimum standards.

Harry Reid, as the minority leader of the senate, will still try to prevent any budgets, as he has done for the last 4 years, so the senate majority leader will have to pay the Democrats back by shutting them out of the process as much as they have shut the Republicans out of the process. No more “playing by the rules only when the Republicans are in power.”

After this, then there must be a major downgrade of the powers of the office of the president, the judiciary, and the bureaucracy.

The judiciary will be restricted in its interference with the states by the senate and house judiciary committees. This includes considerable narrowing of the reasons for death penalty appeals.

The POTUS must work with congress to limit the power of the presidency in the following ways:

1) Prohibition of Czars. Presidential actions, except White House operations, must be through confirmed cabinet members. Czars cannot use government monies, and will have no authority.

2) Prohibition of Presidential Signing Statements, Prohibition of the use of Presidential Proclamations to take state lands (along with returning the vast majority of existing land takings). Strict definition to Executive Privilege, along with exclusions.

3) Restoration and strengthening of the War Powers Act and the Posse Comitatus Act.

4) Strictly limit the ceremonial duties, public appearances, and foreign travel of the POTUS. This is why he has subordinates.

After this, the next step for a Romney presidency should be:

1) Restore and enlarge the FCC broadcast ownership rules, to bust up the media oligopoly in the United States.

2) The completion of the border fence with Mexico.

3) The rapid expulsion of non-Mexican illegal aliens from the US. (Strictly because of the numbers involved, and the greater threat of non-Mexican illegal aliens to US national security.)

Seriously, the US needs to consider a suspension of any Muslim immigration or travel to the US.

Open up the Keystone Pipeline.

Can't be opened until it is built.
