GOP Rout In Pennsylvania Absentee Ballot Returns

Posted on 10/30/2012 5:30:50 AM PDT by Perdogg

This morning President Obama’s campaign indicated they are going on the air in Pennsylvania and sending Joe Biden to the state trying to protect a state that just one week ago was considered to be safe ground. One possible reason? The enormous GOP edge in absentee ballot returns in the state, creating an enormous and unexpected hole for the President’s campaign to dig out of.

In 2008 the GOP edged the Democrats by just 2% in absentee returns. As of today the GOP’s lead is 18.8% — a 16.9% bump in a state Obama won by 10% in 2008. Republicans have turned in 55.2% of the absentee ballots to date while the Democrats have returned just 36.4%.

The Romney Victory team has been on the ground in Pennsylvania for months with over 60 staff and dozens of offices. We have made over 5 million volunteer voter contacts including over 1 million volunteer door knocks across Pennsylvania. That voter contact is paying off in the absentee ballot returns and clearly the President’s campaign sees it in their numbers. That’s why they are playing defense in the Keystone state as Governor Romney’s momentum allows us to expand the map.

If you have to...make several and just keep replacing them every time it happens......

Maybe set up a video camera if it keeps happening.....If you can give the police something to identify them with you can prosecute them too.

It would be funny if it was professor and they got fired over it....probably wouldn't happen though.......although, does it really pay for the college to Piss off the local populace that can vote down issues that they might want or would be helpful for the college?

LS will be on “The Blaze” tonight at 6-6:30 EST discussing how we will NOT postpone or delay a national election due to a storm.

LOL! While I'd rather be up than down you do realize that the difference is less than a tenth of the Philadelphia "rounding error" we will have to contend with. Plenty of Philadelphia precincts will vote at 130% of total available voters.

Nevertheless, glad it is GOP up and not down.

They know the party registration according to the state rolls.

They literally check off each returned absentee ballot and the campaigns are each allowed to keep a record.

This way they don’t have to keep bugging people who have already voted.

Same concept is applied on the actual election day.

Romney GOTV is VERY impressive this year.

I can’t get my hands on another one. I guess that’s a good thing. It means everybody wants one! We’ve got some really REALLY lib profs here. My son (graduates from IUP in December) has left class angry on more than one occasion. Some of the profs are over the top libs.

Recently a local business was threatened - by the head of the local Democrat committee - for having a Romney sign on his property. A Pittsburgh radio station got ahold of that news, and business increased for that company. I love it when a dem plan backfires! Teehee!! Our newspaper received a lot of letters to the editor in support of that business. The owner now has several more signs outside his business now, and the people in the house next door have Romney/Ryan signs lined up in their yard along the road!

Well I can tell you that our Friends and Family living in and around Cleveland (Cuyahoga and Summit counties), Ohio are having the same problem getting Romney signs since September. I lived almost my entire life in Ohio and I'm telling you Romney's got it in the bag. I think it's going to be something in the neighborhood of R-55% / O-43% / other-3%.

Good for that Business too!....Glad they stood up for what they believe in. Democrats really can't defend their own opinion and they just don't know how to deal with someone who can.

Funny how the libtards are always the first to condemn our side of voter intimidation BUT they're the one's actually practicing it!

Good luck to you and your State....nothing would make me happier than to see the Keystone State go for Romney. Don't know if I can get my hands on some Iron City down here but I know I can get Yuengling in Georgia to have on hand just in case we need to toast Pennsylvania on election night!

Believe me, if Pa goes for Romney, there will be celebrating across the state! In addition, we have a guy running for the Senate - conservative Republican Tom Smith - who is closing the gap against the Obama butt-kisser Bob Casey. I’m thinking Smith is going to win this. If so, we give the dems a double whammy! Pray for Pa! And if we win, I’ll be raising a glass right along with ya! Go Ohio! Go Pa!! Woohoo!!

I just hope these numbers can help Smith in Pa and Mandel in Ohio!!! Couldn’t hurt for Mack in Florida. Also see some House races being pulled our way in Iowa, NH and Colorado

Yuengling. Never had one, but I have to admit it's pretty popular in Northeast Ohio.

I've choked down Iron City and Straub and made a mental note to make sure I have six of anything else first before trying to do it again.

The rats can steal a close election but I do not see how they can steal 100,000 votes. That is just too obvious.

Only in Detroit and Philly

...The local TV spots are hard hitting showing layed off coal miners.

That's good to hear. Do you happen to know who is running these ads? I'm praying that SuperPACs are carpet-bombing the swing/battleground states. If they are, I'd be happy to donate to them. Wish some SuperPAC('s) would hit the Benghazigate cover-up, too.

Okay, in those two cities I suspect they can steal a huge number votes 50,000 seems more realistic, but you maybe right.

The coal ads are being run by Tom Smith, who is running against Bob Casey for Senate. The ads mention Obama and the EPA closing the mines and putting people out of work. Real miners are in the ads and the are very well done.
