Petraeus 'flew mistress to Paris for a trip that was funded by the government'
Daily Mail UK ^

David Petreaus took his mistress with him on a government funded trip to Paris after he was named director of the Central Intelligence Agency, according to news reports. Petraeus made the trip with 40-year-old Paula Broadwell, who has written a fawning biography of him, in July 2011, an unnamed source told Buzzfeed. Petraus was heading to his new job as chief of the CIA at the time. Sixteen months later, the four-star general has resigned from his post after his affair with Broadwell was uncovered by the FBI.

In the old days, a real man would retire to a back room with a whiskey, a Luger and one bullet and do the right thing.<<

Yup!....Gonna leave it at that...in the old days...

Concur, as, I imagine, the majority of others who care enough to follow this story, which will now hit the news as a sex scandal, as planned.

This is a red herring. See origin of term.

I just finished watching The Men Who Built America on the HIstory channel. These mean became like royalty but at least they created something to get there and they risked everything and had to be smart + lucky to make it happen.

The whole thing has totally flip flopped. Those who create nothing now live like royalty off those those who do create and work their butts off. At least Rockefeller, Morgan, Carnegie, Ford, Edison etc were governed by the normal of laws of economics and couldn’t just print money like our current a-holes.

When does the revolution start?

This is a red herring. See origin of term.

This red herring was of Petraeus own making. What is not known is if he was 'blackmailed' because of it to do Obama's bidding. Conveniently now Petraeus's red herring allows him to sneak out of testifying about what really did happen in Benghazi. Not every one reads these avalanche of reports of Petraeus's red herring to find out the salacious details of some idiot's sex life.

Ha! I would say soon if Obama listened to this jack azz
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/2958479/posts

Seriously though, some of this travel chit the government does needs to be stopped. They are adding to the debt of future generations indulging in this way.

Panetta flies home on our dime every other weekend (sure he kicks in a jokes amount of money). I think Bush traveled home too much and Obama and Michelle have been friggin’ unbelievable!

The cost of the state dinners?! Outrageous! I’m tired and can’t think of them all but there are so many examples of this and it makes me sick.

I think about beautiful babies and then I think about these ugly azz filthy, greedy, politicians living large on the shoulders of those beautiful babies still in diapers.

bleeeech....we haven’t lived under a monarchy for well over 200 years. Just because those Euros are trashy and think that this behavior is okay does not mean that we Americans do....In the recent past we had leaders like Reagan and soldiers like McArthur

Big distraction.

Notice the press has ZERO curiousity about Nakoula aka Marc Basseley Yousef aka Mark ______? and why the administration chose to use his video of all the videos out there that trash muslims, as their poster video.

They aren't telling us where he was from, or any of his history beyong the little bit about his perevious charge, or with whom he was connected out there in Los Angeles, and I bet he was connected to someone we all know. There's another Mark in Los Angeles who figured in an African WMD case some years ago, and videos were involved in that case too; in both cases the same people from VIPs show up in defense of the liberals's case. What the media did tell us was all wrong- "he's a Jew, he's a Copt, he's a bird, he's a plane... his name is this, his name is that, ..."

We've got a guy of uncerain identity whose film was used by an Egyptian cleric as a go-signal by the cleric, who has ties to AQ. He called for mass demonstrations as an apparent diversion from an AQ terrorist strike on a US diplomatic mission, AND another terror strike on a separate facility from which the US was conducting a search for both wmd and missiles. And the press isn't interested in talking with him any more, or in digging up his connections, not even when he makes cryptic remark about bin Laden. There he is, supposedly in regular jail where it usually is pretty easy to talk to any other prisoner, and the press is all too happy to avoid that story. For all they know the guy is in a secret prison somewhere getting waterboarded, which if this were another admin they would be raising hell about it.

Why didn’t the FBI notify the oversight committee of this investigation? WHat right did they have hacking into his personal e-mails if no criminal evidence was found? So basically the FBI just wasted tax payer dollars to uncover an affair. Great, maybe these idiots should be finding terrorists and Mexican drug cartels. Oh wait, their boss the DA is selling them US arms. Our country is just as corrupt as the rest of the world, we just hide it better.

Yeah, but "Colin Powell Republicans" are not Republicans and are not relevant to the discussion.

Your post on government waste is exactly on point.

It is particularly outrageous since .gov has refused to offer the narrative that could lead to correction—the economy for average people is very tough, and it is time for .gov senior officials to tighten their belts.

Austerity is for the little people—we get it.
