Biden hits new D.C. Costco: ‘I’m looking for pies’

Best office "Secret Santa" ever? Vice President Joe Biden made a surprise shopping blitz through the brand-new Washington, D.C., Costco store on Thursday, emerging with a 32-inch Panasonic flat-screen TV, some kids' books, a big apple pie and Duraflame logs. He then brought his loot back to the White House compound.

"I'm looking for pies," Biden told Costco employee Ivey Stewart, his native guide through the wilderness of the big-box store's opening-day frenzy.

Biden, who was welcomed by Costco CEO Craig Jelinek and co-founder Jim Sinegal, flashed his membership card (yes, the vice president has his own membership card). "In all honesty, I didn't have my own card. Jill wouldn't let me have one," he said. "I went to get my wife's card, and she said, 'No, No, get your own card.'"

And pulled out a plum,
And said ‘what a good boy am I’!

Some are only being polite. Some are moon bats. some are outside throwing up.

He is such a comedian and we smile at him not with him.

Yahoo cannot even get the co-founder right...and I know Dave Herensberger (SP) was also involved...

From Wiki....

Costco today

In the United States, the main competitors operating membership warehouses are Sam’s Club and BJ’s Wholesale Club.[13] Although Sam’s Club has more warehouses[14] than Costco, Costco has higher total sales volume.[15] Costco employs about 142,000 full and part-time employees,[7] including seasonal workers. As of September 2009, Costco had 55 million members.[16]

Costco was the first company to grow from zero to $3 billion in sales in less than six years.[11] For the fiscal year ending on August 31, 2011, the company’s sales totaled $88.915 billion,[7] with $1.462 billion net profit.[17] Costco is 24th on the 2012 Fortune 500.[17] The ACSI (The American Customer Satisfaction Index) named Costco number one in the specialty retail store industry with a score of 83 in Q4 2008.[18]

As of September 2010,[19][dated info] Costco’s board of directors is chaired by co-founder Jeffrey H. Brotman and includes three officers of the company: CEO/co-founder James D. Sinegal, President/COO W. Craig Jelinek, and CFO Richard A. Galanti. There are also eleven independent directors: Hamilton E. James (the “Lead Independent Director”), Benjamin S. Carson, Sr., Susan Decker, Richard D. DiCerchio, Daniel J. Evans, William H. Gates, Sr., Richard M. Libenson, John W. Meisenbach, Charles T. Munger, Jeff Raikes, and Jill Ruckelshaus.

Joe Biden visits Costco... heroic, in touch, a real man of the people!

Ann Romney does and it's dismissed as a PR stunt.

Obama sends Biden shopping at Costco after CEO raised millions for re-election campaign

Snip: Sinegal hosted a fundraiser for Obama in July at his Seattle area mansion at Hunt’s Point. Tickets for the event ranged from $5,000 to $35,000 and reportedly raised more than $1.4 million.

1.4 million reasons not to shop at Costco, where they are issuing their dividends early to avoid higher 2013 taxes like the liberal hypocrites that they are. Tax the wealthy except for the Costco founders, of course.

One reason why I dropped COSTCO, like I ignore AARP. See if the 49% can support the COSTCO CEO’s business.

Any coincidence Costco raised it's membership fees this year?

The very convenient Gore

Snips: Former Vice President Al Gore is on the cover of November's The Costco Connection, the "lifestyle magazine for Costco members." It's hard to figure who looks worse in this odd coupling--the global-warming guru or the supersize warehouse store, which would not be a retail powerhouse were it not for the family minivan.

My first impulse when I saw the Costco Gore cover was to think: Lenin was right when he said, "The capitalists will sell us the rope with which to hang them." (Even if, as some scholars suggest, Lenin didn't say it.) Or as Marc Morano, publisher of Climate Depot, an anti-global warming website, noted, "It makes no sense that a company that supersizes everything from laundry detergent to cookies to potato chips would hold up as their hero a man who wants to ration energy in the United States."

It certainly is incongruous to read Gore renouncing "dirty and expensive carbon-based fuels," at a store that sells big-screen TVs and discounted gasoline.

I wonder if he channeled John Kerry and asked: “Can I git me a pie here?”
