I was commenting on the question of the poster who asked a very specific question.
I have no idea what set him off. I had a friend and former classmate do exactly the same thing as Belcher. He pulled out a gun at a party while his very young children were sleeping in their bedroom. Shot his wife dead in front of witnesses and just as the police arrived, went outside and ate the gun. In his case, he was high on drugs.
No matter what most people think, women can be cruel and vindictive creatures, those that think otherwise are fools.
Remember that during the Indian wars the women did the butchering after the battle. WE have an idealistic view of the man, woman relationship that does not past the history test.

First of all I'm not "defending" him.If you read my posts you'll see that I've put forth everything from "scumbag" to brain injury/disease...and one or two things in between...as possible *explanations*,not defenses.And as for him being "somewhat healthy" it's possible that his heart,lungs,muscles and spine were healthy but his *brain* was not.
And you are correct to observe that people have an inborn instinct to live,that "instinct" residing in the brain.But remember,the heart has an inborn "instinct" to beat in a particular manner.But as you very probably know it doesn't always do so.I,for example,know it from personal experience.
Many brain diseases/abnormalities can be convincingly be shown by looking a microscope slides,global warming cannot.It's foolish to compare the two for any reason.
