Heads reportedly roll at ATF over Fast & Furious
Examiner ^ | DECEMBER 4, 2012 | DAVE WORKMAN

Heads may roll at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives as four key officials involved in Operation Fast and Furious may be fired, two more demoted and one suspended and transferred, sources have confirmed to this column.

Word first leaked over the weekend about three of the reported firings at Town Hall and Breitbart, which curiously carried much the same text under two different bylines.

UPDATE: Fox News, quoting the Wall Street Journal, is reporting however that these dismissals are only recommendations from an agency review board. This column regrets any error.

Former Phoenix Special Agent in Charge William Newell, Assistant Special Agent in Charge George Gillett, and Special Agent in Charge of Operations in the West William McMahon all have been recommended for dismissal, and so apparently was Mark Chait, former assistant director for Field Operations, reliable sources told this column. Those recommended dismissals may be appealed. Demotions were reportedly handed out to former field supervisor David Voth and former Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jim Needles. Special Agent Hope McAllister was placed on unpaid leave and transferred. As this column noted, they were criticized for their roles in the operation by the Inspector General's report.

The WSJ story quoted David Laufman, attorney for Mr. Chait, insisting that "any adverse finding or recommendation by the (professional review board) would be utterly without merit." Attorneys for Newell and Gillett reportedly declined to comment to the newspaper, saying they had not yet received an official notification of the recommendation...

Idiot Boehner should have impeached Holder instead of the politically useless move of voting Holder in contempt of Congress. We need a new Speaker with some brains and guts.

Why would heads roll over a policy of arming your boss’s bosses.

But, but.. Boehner didn't want to impeach Holder so the Republicans wouldn't lose the black vote. LOL! /s

Perhaps Holder's just purging the last of the non-ethnic, non-male, non-communist, non-gay employees.. Ya know, the ones WITH a conscience who feel demoralized by working for the new Anti-American DOJ. What remains are the ones who don't give a damn WHAT the agencies do, just so long as their children get free health care.

Why would they be fired for simply continuing a policy of the Bush administration?

“You simply cannot compromise with evil. Full stop.”

Here, here!!!! We will continue to lose until we acknowledge that Obama is evil, a committed liar, and a pawn for those that want to reduce the U.S.A to a substandard country. If we continue to pander to his whims while trying to take the high road, we are lost. You can’t negotiate with a liar. It is a futile task and only gives credibity to the liar, while at the same time lowers you to his level. Declare to all the Obama is EVIL, and have nothing to do with him!

A distinction without a difference is a type of argument where one word or phrase is preferred to another, but results in no difference to the argument as a whole. THIS is a classic example of a distinction without a difference only it isn't words, it's people. The bosses remain the bosses and nothing will change except the underlings.

They are scattering the people who know something. I wonder how many will have "accidents" or "misfortune" in the line of duty or otherwise.

With no underlings to break ranks, the management is safe, all the way up the food chain.

Intentionally arming foreign terrorist groups should be punishable by at least serious prison time. There has been no justice yet.

Fired? How many are being extradited to stand trial in Mexico? That’s the correct response to unnumbered dead in a foreign country due to malice in office. Holder first.

If they were, they wouldn’t be.

The Bush operations were all competently conducted stings. No matter how you slice F&F, it was a cynical game at best, a deeply nefarious plot at worst.
