Democrats hold a 10-point lead over Republicans on the Generic Congressional Ballot for the week ending December 9, 2012.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows that 46% of Likely U.S. Voters would vote for the Democrat in their district’s congressional race if the election were held today, while 36% would choose the Republican instead.

Maybe we need a new message. “We’re doomed!” is not attracting voters the way it should.

I was being sarcastic.

Unfortunately, it’s hard to get that across with a keyboard.

Actually, the Democrats have succeeded in making the dreaded Republican the new, socially acceptable “N” word.

That won’t change until the Democrats are no longer in control of the media and education.

Obama would just “one-up” them by saying “I’ll give you those things, too!......and, I’ll take it from Republicans!”

Give the country to the dems? Just what the hell do you think Boehner’s in the middle of doing? Go right on being a good little lemming if you want. I refuse to stay with a party that has abandoned the principles that drew me to it and thinks the way to regaining power is to become democrat lite.

Republicans have little choice but to extend the <250 separately and they never actually said they wouldnt.

Taxes will go up for the "rich". There's no way around this. If Republicans give in to Obama, only the rich get thrown under the bus. If Republicans hold firm and we go over the cliff, everybody's taxes go up --and then Obama and the Dems can later ride in on a white horse with tax cuts for the lower 98%.

Fact is, taxing the "rich" is popular right now. Poll after poll shows roughly 60% support. House Republicans are in a lose/lose situation and if everyone's taxes go up, they'll get blamed.

This SHOULD be obvious to all Republicans by now. It gave Dems an issue for 4 years: ‘those tax cuts caused EVERY problem we have.’ And Bohners members would end up begging him to let them vote on a partial extension anyway.

I did a vanity on this to answer those nutbags who claim that O will get the blame if the GOP refuses to extend the <$250K for everyone.

Here's what the Republican House must do on taxes right now, and what will happen if they don't(SOL | 12/7/12 | sickoflibs )

In fact a little less than two years ago after Reid, Obama and Pelosi caved to the 2010 lame duck Senate Republicans on extending the tax cuts (all rates) I posted that Republicans would be in much better position this year if they appeared to put up a good fight but then Reid pulled his ‘50+Biden’ together to extend just that part of the tax cuts that they wanted, using budget reconconsiliation , which they didn't do if you noticed .

Then Republicans could have went into 2012 blaming everything on those tax increases rather than vice versa.

Of course this would have backfired if those taxes went up and the economy boomed the past two years, but heck, Rs lost anyway.

DO YOU KNOW HOW TO READ!? I said target those high-end republicans, not wholesale accept the party’s leadership. Apparently your brain just totally skipped that.

A third party is just accepting democrats. There’s no way around that.

You make examples out of Republican leaders and the message will be delivered; but you don’t abandon those that have been with us the whole way through!!

By a lotto ticket in Nov 2014 and you’ll have a better chance at winning than the rats have of talking back the House.
