I haven’t even heard the idea proposed. I thought of it myself. But the debt ceiling issue may very well be the only ace in Boehner’s hand, it’s the ONLY leverage he has as far as I know.

Nothing would please me more than to have Barack, Boehner, Reid and Pelosi hand in hand tiptoeing off the fiscal cliff as they emerge from the tulips.

Obama thinks there is money out there the same way that Hitler thought there were more combat units than he actually had.

Imaginary troops, imaginary money.

You're forgetting something.....Obama won!! 10 Churhills can't change that!!

The only leverage that Boehner has is letting us go over the cliff.

Reid said, "We (i.e. Dems) have made enough spending cuts". Unquote.

Do not expect an answer, they will not be pinned down.

How about Boner being a LEADER and proposing and laying out a balanced budget within 5 years? Have the House pass it and move on. Do the right thing and ye shall be rewarded. Otherwise SHUTUP and go over the phony rhetorical cliff.

The only thing that is broke is Bonehead’s brain. And we might as well add the rest of the Republicans in the House and Senate. Damn idiots.

If the GOP goes along with the vote on taxes, it will loose all bargaining position. At that point, 0 and the rats will not care what the GOP demands, because the tax problem is done with.

They know it will not solve the budget problem and demand more stimulus and a higher debt ceiling, so as not to shut down government. The GOP has shown fear at that prospect before, and they know a bit of pressure from the media is all it takes. What a mess.

The rats will not give an inch with entitlements, that’s their bread and butter. The GOP should do the same. The only way out is for the other side to blink. The question is, which side will blink first. I would suggest that Boehner make public all negotiations. This back-room crap might work to get pork, but it is leaving the GOP vulnerable to more BS from Pelosi. Be upfront, post all documents and transcripts relating to the negotiation. Full information disclosure will help make the argument and put the rats on the defensive. And do it now!

I have no idea if it would work, or not BUT if these Democrats think the way to get your way is to march on Lansing, then let's march on DC.

This country is going down the tubes and I believe with every ounce of me, this is exactly what Obama wants. There will be no satisfactory deal because Obama and the RATS will make sure there won't be a deal. Boehner is in a no-win situation. We need to back him up and show Obama and the RATs we're sick of this.

GRRRRRREAT thread BUMP!

DEPOPULATE socialists from the body politic.

“Above all, if you wish to be strong, begin by rooting out every particle of socialism that may have crept into your legislation. This will be no light task.” - Bastiat 1801-1850

Socialism Is Legal Plunder - Bastiat “The Law”

http://www.usdebtclock.org/

535 “Americans” in the halls of Congress (without pay, without benefits, without perks) should be able to stop and reverse this debt clock and eventually turn it into a surplus clock WITHOUT raising taxes...and at that time (of surplus)...start drastically reducing current taxes.

We could build a nice monument to them in their respective states or in D.C., as a way of thanking them for preserving and strengthening the republic.

DEFUND socialist collectives, foreign and domestic.

DISMANTLE entire departments in government.

BIG GOVERNMENT IS CRONY SOCIALISM

Thousands of cuts. It’s how socialism dies.

He did in fact pass the Ryan budget and the repeal of Obamacare.

The problem is the design and structure of the GWB tax cuts which have the fatal flaw of being designed to last only a decade.

Boehner cannot extend these tax cuts by himself, you need to have the Senate and the White House on board as well. As I already pointed out, Obama is holding at least three aces in his hand. Boehner has but one-—the debt ceiling, it is the only leverage he has. The House must approve any rise in the debt ceiling.

But the perception of responsibility is also a factor. And the Left must be held accountable for the nefarious agenda that brought the Country to the edge. An incoherent Republican House may unfortunately suffer the blame.

Lil Barry may have won in the voting booth, but he can’t defy the free market. The free market is clubbing him like a baby seal. One example: All his meddling in the solar energy area has crashed and burned. Boner has to cut spending or do nothing. The free market will take care of the economic loser occupying the WH.

Many years ago I stated that we should gut the federal government leaving only Defense, State, and Treasury. Let everything else be at the direction of individual states as they need or not need. Much of what the feds provide is redundant anyway.

At this point it might be the only way to fix this damn mess.

“You ask, What is our policy? I will say; “It is to cry, by sea, land and air, with all our might and with all the strength that God can give us: to cry against a monstrous tyranny, never surpassed in the dark lamentable catalogue of human crime. That is our policy.

You ask, What is our aim? I can answer with one word: cry—cry at all costs, cry in spite of all terror, cry however long and hard the road may be; for without crying there is no survival. “

Leaders create a new game when the game is rigged. Your defeatist attitude exemplifies the GOP. No stones. Lil Barry is a wimp and the free market will take care of him. Walk away from the crooks at the table and create your own game.

To: VRWC For Truth

I would not say that I am a defeatist. I proposed an idea that could work:

GOP agrees to raise the debt limit.
Dems agree to keep tax rates at current levels.

Do absolutely NOTHING and the GWB tax cuts ALL expire in less than three weeks. Dems score a major victory. The get HUGE tax increases which is what they always wanted plus huge cuts in defense also what they always wanted.
