White House petition calls for Joe Biden reality show By Justin Sink - 01/04/13 01:01 PM ET
A new petition on the White House's website is calling for a reality show starring Joe Biden, a day after the vice president's jokes at a Senate swearing-in ceremony became a viral Internet sensation.
The petition says the program would feature "the daily activities and interactions of the Vice President with elected officials, foreign dignitaries and everyday American families" along with "a glimpse of the lighthearted side of politics."
"Vice President Joe Biden has a demonstrated ability to bring people together, whether at the negotiating table or at the neighborhood diner," says the petition, created Friday by a Washington, D.C., resident.
The White House's "We the People" website has been employed for both practical requests and practical jokes since being launched in September 2011. Users successfully petitioned for the release of the White House beer recipe in September of last year, and in November, voters in some states circulated petitions calling for their states to secede from the union following President Obama's reelection.
If the petition earns 25,000 signatures in the next calendar month, the White House promises an official response.
Biden has seen a surge in interest since his increasingly prominent roles brokering the "fiscal cliff" deal with Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and his appointment to head the president's commission on gun violence. On Thursday, C-SPAN aired the vice president's colorful swearing-in ceremony on Capitol Hill, where he greeted and flirted with newly elected Senators and their families.
Biden joked to Sen. Heidi Heitkamp's (D-N.D.) husband that he was "going to be frisked" when a photographer ordered him to drop his hands; he later joked to the elderly mother of Sen. John Barrasso (R-Wy.) he was going to "ruin your reputation here" before embracing her in a hug.
Well, he did father Honey Boo Boo.
A reality show starring Slow Joe would be perfect for the hilariously misnamed Learning Channel.
We could also give him a website: “$#!+ My Vice-President Says.”
“Well, he did father Honey Boo Boo.”
Having seen what Honey Boo Boo’s mom looks like, just how drunk did Joe have to get?
you have seen the biker chick lap pic ,right?
show name: Plugs Stars
Already been done.
Richard Dawson played “Slow Joe” in The Running Man.
This WH website petition feature is rapidly turning into the Great American Joke.
But,but “if they get 25,000 signitures, the president HAS TO take action” .
it’s true, I read it on the interweb!
LOL
This is amazing to me. I would say the WH is taking lemons and making lemonade but really it is more like they take dog poop and turn it into a Baby Ruth candy bar saying, “Here taste this and is what you think.” I am simply astounded how they can take a bumbling half-wit and turn him into an example of anything positive. Of course they couldn’t do it without the full assistance of those hacks that write copy.
Have we not enough idiots on TV?
