TAYLOR, Mich. (WXYZ) - A chaotic scene erupted at the Taylor Human Services Center when the crowd waiting for a Section 8 Housing voucher distribution got out of control.

The center is located at Eureka and Lange Roads. That's between on Eureka, between Beech Daly and Inkster.

Officers say thousands of people from all over the area were at the center at the time of the incident. 7 Action News is being told there were 1,000 vouchers available and 5,000 people showed up trying to get one.

The crowd had grown overnight as more and more people arrived. Some of them said they started lining up yesterday evening.

Witnesses say the line stretched for a mile down Lange Road.

Police say, when the time came for the vouchers to be distributed, there was a mad rush for the door. Officers tried to control the crowd, but couldn't.

Officers had to shut down several lanes of Eureka Road until the situation could be brought under control. The road is now reopened.

Several people were arrested. The rest were sent home. Today's distribution has been canceled and will be rescheduled.

There was an article posted here last week about Section 8 housing.

An MIT graduate (no joke), was lamenting that people in the apartment complex where he lived who were on Section 8 had it much better off than he did. Their rent was fully paid, and they did not hold jobs.

He asked "Where is the incentive to work?"

Welcome to ObamaLand.

Seems to me that there are two ways to deal with this. Lottery or eliminate it altogether.

Well, at least we can rest assured that 4000 of THE BARACK won’t be moving into our neighborhoods any time soon. Now we only have to worry about the 1000 and devaluation of our homes, debasing and druggifying our high schools, and having to hire more cops to patrol at night.

The left knows that the producers will continue to work and start businesses. The left knows that the producers have self-esteem, and would never take a handout.

The left knows that the slackers have no self-esteem, and will not work or start businesses. The left knows that they will vote democrat.

The left knows that the producers are not going to go out in the streets and set fires and throw stones at cops.

The left knows that the slackers will riot in the streets if their free money, apartments and cell phones are taken away.

You’re not using the liberal part of your head. Option 3: If 1,000 vouchers are set aside and 5,000 people show up, simply print up 4,000 more vouchers.

Or give them each a Trillion Dollar coin.

The vouchers might get conservative support if they pay people to live in another state.

This “section 8” is just one example of the massive transfer of money from the producers to the slackers. Not just the rent. The crime and loss of quality of life. The added police protection.

There are many other ways that money is taken from the industrious and given to the slothful.

LOL. Never get between a raging democrat hoard and "free stuff". You'll get stampeded.

Slavery comes in all forms, unfortunately there are people (black and white) who are slaves to the mentality of entitlement.

Liberalism has not helped them achieve the best of their potential, it has kept them chained to the government.

It is time to break the chains and be free from bondage called “entitlement”.

This money must go out all at once. Here’s a story out of Georgia .

This “section 8” is just one example of the massive transfer of money from the producers to the slackers.
It's not just the money - it's also the redistribution of people with inner city values.
I've lived in a suburb of Rochester NY since 1964. Great place to live, raise a family, etc. Essentially, "high" home prices and high taxes kept out the scumbags.
But in the last 6-7 years, the Section 8 program has flooded our town with bottom feeders (mostly apartment dwellers on bus lines) and they're destroying our schools, the mall/shopping areas, our neighborhoods and our way of life.
I despise each and every one of them.

In my Apartment complex, where average apartment complex household income is 120K, there are two Apartment reserved for housing 8 (California state forced them to reserve for housing 8). They are the largest apartment with AC. (none of other apartments are with AC). They wear better trendy clothes than rest of us and own 3 SUV plus car. Ofcourse they are Holder people.

Good. I say fence them in, get the police out of there, and let them kill each other.

Why not? Cities used to give bums a bus ticket to the next county or city. California does it in reverse by offering very generous welfare which attracts all of them here (together with our fine weather).

I'm reading more and more of these stories.

XYZ Government Office is handing out housing vouchers. They make a big announcement and put it in papers knowing they only have X number of vouchers. Then Voucher day comes and people panic and a ruckus/riot ensues.

Its like the government is engineering "incidents of civil unrest".

This concerns me greatly.
