TAYLOR, Mich. (WXYZ) - A chaotic scene erupted at the Taylor Human Services Center when the crowd waiting for a Section 8 Housing voucher distribution got out of control.
The center is located at Eureka and Lange Roads. That's between on Eureka, between Beech Daly and Inkster.
Officers say thousands of people from all over the area were at the center at the time of the incident. 7 Action News is being told there were 1,000 vouchers available and 5,000 people showed up trying to get one.
The crowd had grown overnight as more and more people arrived. Some of them said they started lining up yesterday evening.
Witnesses say the line stretched for a mile down Lange Road.
Police say, when the time came for the vouchers to be distributed, there was a mad rush for the door. Officers tried to control the crowd, but couldn't.
Officers had to shut down several lanes of Eureka Road until the situation could be brought under control. The road is now reopened.
Several people were arrested. The rest were sent home. Today's distribution has been canceled and will be rescheduled.

There are certainly better ways of doing it if we’re going to hand out the money. This seems like a deliberate attempt to create chaos.
Most of these people are on welfare anyway. Pick 1000 of them right off the top and be done with it.
I’m glad I live in a tiny town with virtually no services and only 2 rental units that I know of.

Anyway, I’m in California, too, and I know what you’re talking about. A coworker of mine (who happens to be black) lived in a building that allowed some Section 8. She complained bitterly about how the Section 8 tenants got to live in the same building as she did, but didn’t have to pay nearly as much. And they were troublemakers. The cops were always having to come to the building, helicopters hovering overhead, etc.
Section 8 is a horrendous evil and needs to be abolished.
It would be nice to be required to demonstrate that one has worked 40 hours a week(even at minimum wage) b4 applying for any form of assistance(pay check stubs?). I think the work is out there once the illegals are accounted for. Throw in ‘loser pays’ provision in tort reform and eliminate a few departments and we are on our way..

Welfare is set up to reward sloth. Welfare should be increased for hours of work instead of decreased up to a point.
Can’t spend a day filling out job applications, but they can spend DAYS standing in line for free s&*t. They all look like a bunch of animals. And what is it with these people and MALLS? You supposedly have no money, so you choose to spend your time walking around a place where the whole point of being there is to spend money. And if you have no money, isn’t it just torture to look at all the stuff you can’t afford? I only go to a mall if I have money to spend and am planning to buy something.
And they're doing this in the name of 'diversity'... social engineering.
Then they call you racist when you complain about the degradation of your neighborhood.
Section-8 Black Friday...
This is deliberate. It is the prime example of BRA and the consequences thereof. It is not only the theft of money from the productive majority to the 12.6% but also the transfer of power from us to them.
No matter where the productive flee the Government pays to have their affluent locales invaded. Once the minority reaches about 20% of the population living conditions decline. The 12.6% does not have within them, as a whole, to maintain an advanced, civil, high tech society. There are dozens of cities/countries across the US and the world that prove this point and there is not one that allows refutation.
How ridiculous it is to hear this reporterette zombie tell us how “heartbreaking” it is that people were denied their vouchers.
How about the little homey at the end of the video split the rent with her baby daddy? Huh?? Why can’t these imbeciles do what every other productive member of society does ...GET MARRIED. STAY MARRIED. Split your living expenses with the father of your children. God, I just want to go pound the WALL.
WHY these people are considered any different from the rest of us? Why can’t they stay together, males and females, for the good of their children and our society? Why are they NOT expected to do this?? Are we to believe they are mentally deficient and unable to do so? I think it is WE who are mentally deficient for EVER allowing this!
I think the ONLY thing holding me together anymore is the thought of this horrific system collapsing, and these people will either be forced to do what it takes to survive, or they WON’T. Problem will be solved.
You have morbidly obese people, sitting in a clean, taxpayer funded cyber cafe with brand new flat screen computers to take their on-line application so they can get "free" rent paid for by other people's hard work.
And what is the focus of the story?
That the obese moochers are complaining about how the brand new computers sometimes kick them out of the on-line application mid way through and they have to re-type things.
Poor babies.
This is just the beginning. Imagine when there is no more money to redistribute and there is no law enforcement. The hordes will be unleashed on society to finish stealing, murdering and torturing anyone caught in their path. God help us.

I don’t know. Looking at these people and how dependent and weak they are, I sadly don’t feel many of them will do a single thing to help their own plight. It will, rather, be the heavy handed government THUGCORPS that will come to take whatever anyone else has to redistribute it TO them.
A revised way of looking at paying one's "fair share" is to look at the time spent on working for the "public good" (paying taxes).
It's annoying that the 47% spend 0% of their time working for the "public good". How is that fair at all?
