A 15-year old boy used his father’s AR-15 to defend himself and his 12-year old sister against two burglars at their home just north of Houston, Texas.
Their father is a Harris County Precinct 1 deputy constable, and the boy knew what he had to do to keep himself and his sister alive. Around 2:30 PM, two men tried to break in, with one going through the front door and the other in the back.
The boy grabbed the AR-15 and shot at them. The two later showed up at a Tomball hospital. The adult was hit three times and was flown to Memorial Hermann hospital, while the juvenile was taken back to the crime scene.
“We don't try to hide things from our children in law enforcement,” Lt. Jeffrey Stauber said. “That young boy was protecting his sister. He was in fear for his life and her life.”
More stories are coming out about armed citizens defending their lives and property with legally owned firearms. In the span of a week, Breitbart News has reported how a mother used a .38 revolver against an intruder, a man used his weapon to protect his 2-month old son, and a Colorado man invoked the Make My Day law in Colorado in using lethal force to defend himself against three intruders.
Senator Dianne Feinstein and others are trying to push through major gun control laws that would include banning the AR-15, the same gun used by the teenage boy.

This boy did nothing but put himself and sister in danger by playing with a dangerous firearm! That man could have been killed needlessly.

Good for the young man. It took a lot of courage to rise above the element of danger to protect his sister and himself. You enter someones home, as this, you deserve what possibly could happen to the *intruder*

Another score for the good guys. ‘Assault’ weapon prevents assault, or far worse for these two youngsters. Kudos to that fast reacting 15 year old and his parents for guiding him so well. A little more range time and both these perps would be closer to room temperature rather than consuming three squares daily.

Obama is going to lose a lot of supporters this year because of the increased gun buying. That’s why they want to start disarming conservatives this year. I have no idea whether this is true or not, but it would be interesting to know who some of these killed or captured clowns voted for.
It would be nice if some legitimate polling organization actually asked convictec criminals in, say, 10 large and 10 medium sized cities around the US, who they voted for, or if they voted at all.
Could be tricky because criminals have a habit of lying, but might also turn up some interesting statistics.
Despite the just outcome, the young lad will forever bear the terror of the event.

1. Shooting ranges filled to capacity. I, for one, would see a great future for those “tactical” simulations that the police do - the “shoot -no shoot” stuff.
2. “Shoot to wound” won’t be an option. There will probably be MORE deaths.
3. “No-fail” weapons becoming very popular - i.e., 18” shotguns.
Well, if he had just the one gun, and a phone, I hope he delegated the younger sister to call for backup.

Uh, no...the juvenile taken back to the crime scene was NOT the boy who shot at the intruders.
The juvi taken back to the scene was the second of two intruders. One came in the front and one the back of the home. The boy armed with the AR-15 shot at both of them, but only hit the adult perp, three times. So he ended up hospitalized.
The boy hero lived in the home. He wasn’t taken back to the crime scene, he lived there.
It was the juvi intruder, unwounded, who was taken back to the scene by the cops, I’m sure for investigative purposes.
They can get the juvi to turn on the adult perp he was with and set this case up nicely. He can reveal several things about how the crime was committed and each one of those items could become a charged count, and having gotten the adult on multiple crimes in the course of committing the home invasion, the authorities can lengthen the adult perp’s sentence.

A “fair fight” is a result off poor mission planning. If your goal is self defense parity you simply don’t understand either the problem or your chances of recovering from it. Notice that the boy apparently made his move at the first sign/sound of forced entry. If you are serious about your own safety/defense then you need to re-assess how much and where your defensive tools are with a view to making them OVERWHELMING———that’s what works.

But seriously...yeah, it’s where you hit. Like that woman in Georgia who shot the scumbag breaking into her home a week or so ago - she hit him 5 times (!!!!!) and he was still breathing and driving... .38spl versus .45
One or two hits from .45 ACP (Assh*le Criminal Popper, or American Commie Popper, your choice - either way, its the same) would have put him on ice.
Personally, I like an AR platform with a LWRC piston upper, in .308/7.62 NATO.
Best of all worlds... .30 Caliber knockdown, AK47 piston-style reliability, and that ol’ familiar silhouette that makes libs pee themselves in horror just thinking about it.
Failing that, the M14 is my Beauty Queen.
