Texas IS too hot, but I haven’t seen a tarantula in 20 years.

I remember visiting my Aunt & Uncle in Ft. Worth when I was a kid. They had swarms of crickets so thick they were an inch deep in the hotel parking lot. The heat was so bad I need a steel brush to get any relief. Ugh.

There are probably a lot of guns in Galveston bay.

OK, so I’m 50% of the way there. What area do you live in?

I know it’s kind of weird but, in a way, Austin lends Texas credibility. People can’t say Texas is the way it is because of lack of dissenting voices. It’s like the Republicans in the US Congress, they don’t really have any say, just gives the illusion of opposition. The goofballs in Austin obviously don’t have much say in state politics.

It’s easy for me to think of them in the abstract because I don’t have to live with them. Austin is the prettiest of your big cities though.

If that’s the case, why is Austin solid red?

“There are probably a lot of guns in Galveston bay.”

All of which were lost in tragic boating accidents, I’m sure...

“Sorry, but there should be a white dot over that giant pesthole called Austin.”

No, guns is one area that Democrats join Republicans - Dems have guns too in Texas. Guns aren’t political to most people here, they are a way of life. I think we will see Democrats voting for the bill to keep the feds out of Texas regarding guns.

At that resolution the number of gun owners in Austin outshines those who don’t have them.

SCUBA gear would probably be an excellent investment.

“Anyway, my wife is afraid of Texas being too hot, and having big tarantulas.”

Tell your wife we are air conditioned everywhere and I have lived here all my life and never seen a tarantula at all.

Let your wife know they do have air conditioners in Texas. There are also exterminators in Texas to deal with the bugs. Now you can have a choice live in Texas with guaranteed freedom, pay for higher AC bills, and exterminators or continue to live in Illinois where everyday is a challenge to keep your freedom pay exorbiant taxes and be known for the Community Organizers State. Look what has happened already in Illinois - Criminals will have more rights than law abiding citizens.

Plenty of taratulas, you are just not living south enough.....but they do not crawl up on you and bite you in your sleep.

They usually bite you when you are awake

I've never been biten by one but have had a few jump at me to scare me away to leave them alone, it worked. Haven't seen many taratulas or horned toads since the fire-ants moved in.
