Well, congratulations to Citrus County, Florida for providing America with the next Daniel Harless-style video.
Harless, of course, was the Canton, Ohio cop who threatened to execute a law-abiding card-carrying good guy for having the audacity to lawfully exercise his right to carry the means with which to protect himself. Harless was eventually canned (links to videos can be found here) and subsequently won his job back if he could pass a medical screening.
A couple of days ago, this new video from Citrus County, Florida made its splash. Now its gone viral. (Sorry were a little behind the curve. Believe it or not, we have a life outside of blogging.)

I just clicked on the link. It came up for me.
That cop repeatedly lies to the citizen. The citizen told the cop he had a permit immediately after the cop asked him why he had a gun. The cop also caused the accidental exposure of the weapon, which he then uses as an attempt to intimidate and browbeat the citizen.
I won’t even go into the poor procedures regarding the passenger in the vehicle.
Too many of us trying to access it at the same time. Try again.
I hope this guy sues the cop in civil court and takes every dime he will ever make in his life

Sorry, I don't see a settlement in this citizens future.
“I hope this guy sues the cop in civil court and takes every dime he will ever make in his life”
The fact that this went this far is testimony that more confrontations are inevitable in the future unless the police begin exercising better judgement and treat their employers fairly. I would have cited the driver at most and that would have been the end of it based upon what I saw. And yes, the tactics fail! This ties up the citizen’s time and money and lawyers fees are cost prohibitive for most people. Besides, the cop won’t lose a dime but the taxpayers will and they are not the ones overseeing the police department. My opinion? You don’t want to know.
Un. Fricking. Believeable.
In 63yrs, I’ve never run into a bad LEO. Maybe I lead a sheltered life, but the several LEOs I have as friends would never do that crap. He’s a psycho.

I live in Citrus Co. & never heard about this crazed Fl. Deputy Andy Cox. He needs to find another job that’s for sure.

So it is protocol to put every citizen you meet who you discover has a gun on the ground, and handcuff them without ever having probable cause that a crime has been committed?
What state are you familiar with? I can tell you that what you describe is not protocol in most states that I am familiar with.
Maybe not but it's been reported that the guy isn't going to be charged for anything..........
So who does that make at fault?
But I digress, what exactly is Fla law when it comes to a vehicle driver who is legally carrying a concealed weapon and is pulled over by a LEO?
And furthermore, what is the sense of the cop intensifying his harassment of the individual AFTER the driver DOES produce his CPL?
There's no question in my mind that this jerk had a case of the ass simply because he couldn't nail the driver for anything and thus had to make the driver kiss his ass and lick his boots......
As a side note Joe, your vehicle registration is flagged with your Sec. of State indicating that you have a CPL..........So once the LEO enters your license plate number into his on board computer, he knows immediately that you may be carrying a firearm.
What is a CPL?
Concealed Pistol License.......most people refer it as a CCW (Concealed Carry Weapon) license.
Thanks, I kinda figured it was that but as you say CCW is more identifiable to most.
