Posted on 01/23/2013 10:51:09 PM PST by Zhang Fei
Senior Colonel Liu Mingfu of the National Defence University has given Australia a stern warning to not side with the global tiger (United States) or the Asian wolf (Japan) lest it be caught in the middle of the rising tensions over the Senkaku/Diaoyu Islands. He claims that China is a peaceful nation but will fight back if pushed.
Colonel Liu claims that he does not speak in behalf of the leadership of the Chinese leadership, but he is one of the outspoken hawkish Peoples Liberation Army (PLA) leaders who are given free reign to speak on certain issues. When asked about the capability of China to fight back, he said that they house strategic missile and nuclear arsenal. While hes not calling on China to use a nuclear attack, he says there are some scenarios that might justify it. If this Japanese wolf again attacks Americas Pearl Harbour or Australias Darwin, how do you know it wouldnt receive another nuclear bomb? Colonel Liu said.
“Let’s do it, Lunger.”
You’re my Huckleberry
Hey China...shut up...You underestimate a lot of coutnries and think your bluster will pave a smooth path. You’re not all that cupcake.
Otherwise, they'd better prepare themselves for Tibetization.
Australia is an island nation. You need a big navy to get there. As long as the RAN and the USN have attack subs, it will be very hard for the PLAN to project that far.
Thanks Zhang Fei.
Of course you know that the Regime, will back the Chicoms. The “Justice is Coming” administration left in January of ‘09.
He speaks for the Chi-com government in a role that allows deniability on the extent of the threats.
The Chinese have ICBMs, a few decent submarines (more than Australia), and a far better surface navy (including a new carrier) than Australia. Note that China also just started acquiring medium range Backfire bombers.
Without U.S. support, the Australians are at a real severe disadvantage. Expect Indonesia to act as a one-way membrane allowing Chinese moves, but not Australian.
China is at a disadvantage against an allied Japan, Taiwan, Australia, assuming Russia doesn't lend a hand, which is why they are working at splitting up that alliance.
Umm, well, yes. I think I mentioned the USN. You might as well say that virtually any nation, that doesn't want to fall to China or islam or some local despot, is at a "real severe disadvantage" without US support.
Just keep in mind:
China is running MASSIVE surpluses with other countries, who are importing vast and growing amounts of manufactured goods from China.
That must stop. Bring back manufacturing now.
Russia isn't. Japan doesn't have to be, but they would need to go nuclear.
The point is that China is driving wedges between its adversaries and using a very large hammer. Obama isn't just ignoring the cracks, he's making a point to be seen ignoring the cracks. The Australians would be foolish to presume that the USA will back them unconditionally.
The PRC must’ve hired NK’s speech writer...
Since 5.45 A.M. we have been returning the fire, and from now on bombs will be met by bombs. Adolf Hitler September 1, 1939 - Germany faked the Gleiwitz incident and then Adolf claimed that Germany has begun to shoot back. I guess Hitler felt that Germany had been "pushed".
China has never been a peaceful nation. At its unification after great slaughter, China's land area was a quarter what it is today. At the end of the 18th century, China doubled its land area via armed conquest. In the last two centuries, China has been militarily weak rather than peaceful. In the past 60 years alone, China has fought significant wars with the US, South Korea, India, the Soviet Union and Vietnam.
If you want to emigrate to Australia you can..just bring money.
Formosa was not part of Qin China. It wasn’t even Chinese until 1661 when the collapsing Ming Dynasty conquered it. It was under Chinese rule from 1661 until 1683. It was then under Manchu/Qing rule until 1895. For the next 50 years, it was Japanese. Only in 1945 did it return to Chinese mainland rule and then for only a few years.
