Elaine Donnelly: Women in Combat Order “Dangerous Social Experiment”

Military-readiness advocate Elaine Donnelly warns that the Obama administration’s decision to put women in ground-combat roles amounts to “social engineering to achieve a political end in the name of diversity.”

She adds that the policy shift means “lives could be lost unnecessarily, not just women, but men.”

Donnelly’s organization, the Center for Military Readiness, released a 42-page report earlier this week exploring the unintended consequences of putting women on the front lines.

“It will do great harm to women in the military, especially those who will find themselves in the infantry—something there’s no indication they wanted,” Donnelly said Wednesday in an exclusive Newsmax interview. “It will harm men and the mission of the infantry as a whole.” …

OK. When we have 20 million dead, civilians being machine gunned into death pits, and the enemy trying to force the Mississippi with St. Louis besieged and the residents of Chicago eating rats and each other, THEN we can consider it.

Your point is WELL taken. PS:Jamacusa is a south hating, anti-states rights liberal POS.

And, I have certainly not gotten that from either you or EDINVA, despite the fact that I have said nothing rude to either of you.

A pity that neither of you can make the same claim.

I guess civil discourse and debate in America are truly extinct.

When correcting another person’s grammar or spelling, it’s a good idea not to use improper grammar oneself. I.e., “I don’t know what the hell your talking about ...”

Just sayin’

I'll attack the division that has you in it in answer to your widely sup positional parlor game interrogative. You're in the''mixed one'' right? Women are flying fighter jets and women were flying Apache helicopters, in Iraq, in combat, During Operation Iraqi Freedom. Those here who have served and survived combat or are serving now can certainly speak with more authority on this issue than I ever could. After all, who am I to question a veteran? I'm just one of the sheltered who has slept soundly under the blanket of security provided by those who ''stand ready in the night''. It's my great regret that I never served in our nations military. As an eighteen year old high school senior in 1975 seeing a long, bloody, protracted and badly managed war coming to a horrible end serving in the military didn't seem like an appealing prospect. The American military at the time was not held in any great regard. And frankly I never so much as went out for sports in high school and I didn't think I had what it would take to be a good soldier or Marine. I didn't understand the politics of the Vietnam War and I didn't go along with others who called our troops'' baby killers''The soldiers were not the reason for the failure of the war. And at the time the pay wasn't that great and I had a better opportunity waiting for me after graduation. If a young, patriotic , red-blooded America woman of upstanding moral character and sound mental and physical aptitude and is found to be up to the task wants to join our military and serve in combat to defend and if need be die to preserve our freedoms, why should she be prevented? It's just as much her country to serve and defend and die for just as it is for any America man, isn't it? So I have a question for you ''central va'', Mr. Big Mouth, have you ever served? And if you haven't, why not? Are you a coward? ATFQ yourself Reb.

So you can’t answer the question, figures. I’ll read your whole diatribe when and if you ATFQ. You are a lib.

I’m sorry that you feel my comment was rude to you. In your original post, you labeled Elaine Donnelly as a feminist, which is clearly incorrect. EDINVA rather brusquely told you of your error, to which you replied indignantly.

I simply informed you that willful ignorance is seen as an invitation to blunt commentary.

You are right - civil discourse, including original comments that do not commit bombastic errors, appears to be a dying art.

Have a great day, FRiend.

“I don’t care if an enemy is bull dyke or an eighty year old syphilitic with asthma, if it can pull a trigger you’re just as dead.”

So...you think we can put “eighty year old syphilitic[s] with asthma” into combat without degradation?

That is part of our problem: too many people think combat is JUST pulling a trigger.

Here is my point. Suppose one of your children, or even a co-worker said something that wasn’t too bright. Would you lay into them with a lot of name-calling and branding them a dumba%% ignoramus (and, I’m not saying that you or EDINVA did that, but it was the equivalent)?

Or, would you try to understand why they said what they said and attempt to educate them a bit?

If I unwittingly say something stupid, I am open to being educated. But, when I am treated to the kinds of rude comments I got from EDINVA and, to a lesser extent, you, it rather turns me off and makes me disappointed in the posters at FR.

We’re supposed to be educated, Christian conservatives and, yet, give us an anonymous screen name and an attitude, and we turn into the same kind of people there are at DU and Daily Kos. I’m as guilty of doing that as the next person and I am trying to stop because we are better than that.

And, if we can’t have differences of opinions in a cordial environment, but still unite to end the tyranny of the left that we are currently under, how can we ever expect to regain any level of leadership?

We all have to do better, me included.

Anyone who beleives this and is not four years old, is both stupid and insane.

What leftists want is a permanent draft of both men and women. They will order women into combat positions in equality to men w/o regard to their combat ability. They are making our military into a global peace corp for globalist nation building so combat will not be necessary.

Trust me ‘’Mr. Rogers’’ I can appreciate that combat is more than ‘’just pulling a trigger’’. I certainly can’t know for certain because I’ve never been in combat. Those veterans I’ve known have told me it’s much more than that. But the question I ask is simply if a woman wants to serve and is found to be qualified and wants to be in a combat unit, doesn’t she have that right? It’s her country to serve and defend too, isn’t it?
